CanisDEK 1 Posted November 17, 2001 You need to make templates you can open in the editor for islands and all game types. The templates and the way they are currently used are totally useless. Let us pick templates in the editor and add soldiers, vehicles etc. The templates should contain the basic code, triggers etc. for the particular game type so the only thing you have to do is move the stuff around to the area you want, add vehicles, soldiers, make the briefing etc. If you don't add this soon could you please put missions for game types for all islands up for download. They shall only contain the basics... the you can open this mission in the editor, change it and save it with a new name... Please BIS, this would be so easy for you to do and would help people make great missions and make the game more fun for everyone.
Dawdler 0 Posted November 17, 2001 One can actually open the templates. But everything end up in a pile in the southwest corner, making it a bit hard to edit. But its works (I think). Is about to edit one now, only have to see if it works in MP.
Dirt 0 Posted November 18, 2001 BIS another few things the editor can use is: 1. Give us the ability to add waypoints between waypoints. There's nothing that ticks you off more than getting a unit all complete with its waypoints and find out you left one out and now have to move them all to get 1 added. Should be able to click on the one before it and then click on where you want the new one and Bamm its there between the 2. 2. Wapoint information. You should along the waypoint line information that shows the heading and the distiance from that waypoint to the next for those of us that build maps (alot of use like to play in the vet. mode and this would allow map makers to place this info in the brief (EXP: Once you are at the LZ take a heading of 52 for 481m till you reach the burned out house, then a heading of 345 for 400m to target area). 3. For multiplayer use give the Insert Trigger panel the option of public var. with a check box so trigger can be sent out with more ease.
the nothing 0 Posted November 18, 2001 Actually, they already have the ability to put waypoint between waypoints... in the box below the type of waypoint, it shows your already done waypoints. Just select the one you want it put before and there, it's between the two points!
