bardamu 0 Posted February 4, 2004 Hi all, I'm modelin a building and i have a prob with the textures. I'd like to have a texture with some transparency but i don't know how to do: do .tga files keeps a transparent font after being saved, and does it deals with alpha channels? I saved one in ".tga" but with Textview i have a white background instead of the transparency. If you have a link or a clue for me...??? bardamu
DaSquade 0 Posted February 4, 2004 It's not that hard: -make your texture...delete the transparant parts out your texture (make shore you're started with "background" transparant). -select the transparant parts. Go to "channels"...and add a new layer "(by default...ALPHA). Delete the selection (so transparant parts are white..and visible black). -(not shore, but works for me)...hide the "alpha" channel. -save as TGA (32bit). Normally it would work (although in PS when saving it warns about the layers and stuff). Open texture in TexView and save as .pac

DaSquade 0 Posted February 5, 2004 "save to PAC". So it's PAC for transparent and PAA for normal?
BraTTy 0 Posted February 6, 2004 Save as .tga and O2 will convert to .paa for transparant textures Save as .gif and O2 will convert to .pac with no transparancy
