KGBMan 0 Posted January 27, 2004 Hello everybody ! Please help ! I upgraded my system with latest nVidia (53.03) drivers and DirectX 9.0b and my OPF got screwed. The game will either freeze or graphics start to be green/yellow and made-up of huge poligons. The poligons part I fixed by going back to 45.23 drivers, but freezing continues. Also my other games started to freez too.... And everything worked fine before Direct 9 and nVidia update.. I have : Xp 2100+ geForce 3 512Mb pc2100 Gigabyte 7VTXH Win XP pro SP1 All the latest drivers (4-in 1 VIA, Creative). The system does not overheat, CPU runs at 30-40 C
Placebo 29 Posted January 27, 2004 What version of Opf and are you using the -nomap command? Also search the troubleshooting forum for "green".
KGBMan 0 Posted January 27, 2004 I'm using OPF:R v. 1.95beta, problem started with v.1.91 I read "green" topik and none of those sugestions worked. I'll try -nomap tho.... But I still think it's DirX 9 that messed thing up, since it's not just OPF. So, is there a way to go back to DX8.1 without reinstalling XP ?

I aint done this kinda thing before but do a search for directx buster on say google.com.Dunno much about it though, just check it busts the version you have. You can then go back to DX8.
Placebo 29 Posted January 28, 2004 Which order did you install the drivers and DX 9.0b? In the past I've installed drivers and it's messed things up, installed 9.0b again over the top and all was fine
KGBMan 0 Posted January 29, 2004 Which order did you install the drivers and DX 9.0b? In the past I've installed drivers and it's messed things up, installed 9.0b again over the top and all was fine Originaly - drivers first, DRX second. But since the problems started - any way possible ;) Unfortunately I didn't have time to unistsall DRX9 yet, but I will soon and let you know what happens. KGBMan 0 Posted February 3, 2004 Well, here is what happend : 1. Uninstall of DirectX 9 didn't solve anything. But I fixed the problem by : 1. re-install DRX 9 2. replaced my geForce 3 with geForce 4 ti4200 3. installing latest 53.x drivers from nVidia 4. put back my geforce 3 5. running OPF 1.95 beta with -nomap At least OPF runs now.
