Are these board moderated

I understand I'm new here and I only came on to check for other people's views of 1.30 and maybe some recruiting for our squad but reading some of the threads in here really makes me wonder why people stay.

There are several threads which to me, are way out of hand. Are these boards just here so people can give s**t to other people? The sniper thread, the GR thread.

Admin, if your gonna have moderators then maybe they should start moderating. Look at SIMHQ, they don't take any of the BS that goes on here.

I understand these are your boards but really, clean it up a tad.

The moderators here don't speak much english, and they don't come to the english side of this board much.

The people at this forum are the same guys at other forums. Most guys around here are leading informatives at other gaming forums. Just that they aren't as 'free' as they are here.

We all have to take a minute away from being serious. So most guys come here.

When they have nothing better to say, they say it often.

I would say that these forums are open to everyones comments. If they are offensive they are sometimes removed. If they offend the reader, the reader can then stop reading that particular thread. I think 99% people here are responsible posters/readers/lurkers.

To call people childish for their posts is silly as they probably are children.

I have a new feature added to my computer this year. When I get in a thread that looks to be going bad, I scroll using this wheel on my mouse and I get past it.

The BS posts you are talking about weren't always here - things have deteriorated in the last month or so.

I can put up with that as I just don't participate, but what really annoys me is the amunt of racism that is appearing on this forum. It really annoys me as I'm here for OFP not that crap.

I'll probably get a really bad reaction for saying this but it seems to me that the biggest culprits of this are American's (I can't be sure if they are Americans but it appears that way). I think some of the younger and more ignorant of the members think that racism is ok 'cos of the September 11th tradegy. Well it isn't - two rights don't make a wrong. Tolerance is the answer. Some examples of what I've read are the use of "towl head" "rice face/thrower" and worse which I wont repeat.

Fewer and fewer of the threads seem to be about flashpoint and most of them should be in "off topic" - even this one, but if you put it there none of the people on this forum would read it.

I'm of the oppinion that everyone is entitled to their own oppinion even if it is ignorant racism - but if you do have a view like this the rest of us should be subjected to it.

I also don't care if some of you are 13 or so and think it's ok, what you have to understand is that most parents have the right not to have thier chidren to such filth

I naver gave a thought to this before untill i started dating my current GF who has a 3 year old daughter, it's hard to give any child a safe play zone with out your guys help

Ohhh ... it was so much better in the old days, when I used to use the green-screen monsters in the terminal room to check the latest Usenet posts (My Lord! I've just realised that was a decade ago now!). Ah .... I remember when all this was V-shaped valleys, etc.

But seriously (folks) I would encourage slightly stronger moderation of these groups.

First, it's Americans, not American's. The apostrophe denotes possession, and is not the plural form.

Second, if you can't be sure they are Americans, please don't make such a sweeping generalization. At least look at the profiles of the childish posters before unilaterally declaring them all Americans.

If I were to say all the Norwegian people on this board are childish, I would get flamed and dismissed as "another ignorant, arrogant American". Don't do the same. Stupidity is universal, and has nothing to do with what country you're from, except that it may be a little colder or warmer wherever it is that you're stupid.

Judging from a lot of the broken English I see on these boards, I would say that most of the chidlish posts are not from Americans, but from people for whom English is a second language (like that Japanese guy who gets all orgasmic about the Imperial Japanese Navy).

Well here's my well thoughout reply (notice how I used an apostrophe to shorten here is to here's?):

First off I don't care if your insult my grammer or say I haven't thought through what I said because I'm perfectly happy with my self esteem and I have the qualifications to prove my intelligence.

Also you suggest I look into profiles to find a persons nationality well I'm soryy but it doesn't tell you (even you have not filled in your location).

As for my statement about racism I don't think you can't fault my motives and I clearly said that I wasn't sure it was Americans.
