Mister Frag 0 Posted October 25, 2001 For lots of people, that's all they can get besides dial-up. There is an interesting story on broadband in Europe on NEWS.COM: http://news.cnet.com/news/0-1004-200-7642419.html Then again, compared to Japan, even North America is in the stone ages. A coworker just came back from there, and NIT has most of the country wired using fiber, bringing 10Mbps access to virtually all residences.
JRMZ 0 Posted October 25, 2001 hmmm You should try it with 12 people
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted October 25, 2001 there is no way ISDN can host 12 players with out large amounts of lag, it's what 2-3 times faster then 56k? I've only seen IDSN at libraries and they had 4 Computers and web browsing LAGGED lol
IGI 0 Posted October 25, 2001 lmao @ RN malboenuf emmm what year are you in mate, i think you'll find that most libaries use adsl now, or cable... and well ive been there done that so you can all believe what you want.

RN Malboeuf 12 Posted October 26, 2001 sorry they had lag, many are so acustom to it that they never complain and hope for best. I'll put it simply, if Cable and DLS are having probems IDSN will have more, it's not faster then Broad Ban
IGI 0 Posted October 26, 2001 It doesnt matter if you have Dsl or Cable, it depends on Isp, and your comptuers spec and RAM. more ram you have the faster you can send and recieve information back to and from your modem.
RN Malboeuf 12 Posted October 27, 2001 yes on the CPU and no on the ISDN, you can only fit so much signal into ISDN, it's has a 10'th of the speed upstream that broad Ban has, don't tell us other wise. IDSN Irritating Dam Slow Net
hkg3 0 Posted November 14, 2001 RN u always got an answer to everything eh, i got ISDN and get better pings than some of the ADSL users, and i host sometimes with no problems...............
JRMZ 0 Posted November 14, 2001 To host a game, one of the things you need is a good upload stream. With ISDN you just don't have that. So conclusion: ISDN host = laggy
JumpinJackFlash 0 Posted November 14, 2001 We are palying on a 1,5Mbit line and we still suffer from a bit of lag when driving fast vehicles and choppers. Not the pilots/drivers but the passengers and gunners.... Still a shame that being a gunner in an Apache has to be a slideshow....
