Dschulle 0 Posted January 14, 2004 I tried to build a JeepMG-like model, but encountered the well known muzzle flash bug. All entrys in Cfgmodel / Config should be ok. The thing is, it works in MLOD! But after binarizing it, the bug is there. Has anyone encountered sth. like this? I remember that the uaz+mg from BAS is also MLOD, while all other models from BAS are usually ODOL. Any help? BraTTy 0 Posted January 14, 2004 I know that after binarizing it messes with some alpha channels, sometimes you have to arrange the alpha layers manually in O2 (bring to front etc..) I noticed on some pilots I had the feet were invisible after binarizing even But it is usually related to the cfgmodels being wrong somewheres (you sure its ok?) Some information with one of the Bis patches I recall describing some of the new changes around that muzzle flash thing,i don't recall what patch, but its within the readme for one of the patches, prolly patch 1.85 i think or one around when Resistance came out There is also this topic from Suma: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=23003 Also someone that makes a lot of weapons may know your answer better
Lester 0 Posted January 17, 2004 The cfgmodels config.cpp is 100% ok and the topic from Suma isn't helpful in this way. (I've renamed the original jeepmg to my modelname and test it without these effects !)
BraTTy 0 Posted January 17, 2004 Quote[/b] ](I've renamed the original jeepmg to my modelname and test it without these effects !) This line is confusing...you saying it works naming the model the same name as addon? More information is needed , possible to post the config.cpp? And model names? Dschulle? Â But I thought there was no longer any muzzle flash problems in OFP ? Another thing I forgot to mention is sometimes cutting (deleting) and pasting back sections helps
Lester 0 Posted January 17, 2004 Dschulle posted for me, cause my account was unable to post. Yes, i've put the jeepmg renamed to my modelname in my pbo to eliminate a config error. The delete and paste technique don't work in this case. Btw. i've tested a binarised (and unchanged) M2MG demomodel and got the same problem !
SelectThis 0 Posted January 21, 2004 Make sure the config.cpp is present in the folder you are binarizing. Even if in the final pbo the config.cpp is located elsewhere, make a copy of it to the folder to be binarized before converting to odol. SelectThis
dm 9 Posted January 22, 2004 I remember that the uaz+mg from BAS is also MLOD, while all other models from BAS are usually ODOL. Â Any help? Yeah... I f**ked up when packing the files for upload (I packed the dev pbo, and not the "release" pbo...) all new downloads of the Russian "OPFOR" pack have the models in ODOL As STT said, you will experience this muzzelflash bug if you binarize the models without a fully working config.cpp in the folder when binarizing. Lester 0 Posted January 23, 2004 I've got the problem and the config.cpp was fine all the time ... The model wasn't located in a addon pbo but in a additional pbo used for assembly work put in the OFP - dta dir. Imho OFP can't assure that this pbo allready loaded when initializing the cfgmodels entry. All other models work on this way without problems, but they also don't have any muzzle If the model located in a "normal" addon - pbo the muzzle effect gone by the wind ;) thx for try to help me
stoppelhopser 0 Posted March 8, 2004 as far as i know, the corresponding muzzle flash texture has to be in the "data" folder within your "binarize" folder.
