Autopilot trouble

Recommended Posts

when I fly my model the autoland works ok (a little bit short but ok)

when AI fly it on autoland they make good approach then via off and keep going round in cirles.

Take offs are fine no trouble.

I have only tested on everon but I assume its the same on other maps.

Any ideas??

I've seen that, with my Corsairs you have to order them to "disembark" they don't just jump out neither...they land at the airstrip and then disembark

Yeah I tried that - AI did low level pass of airstrip then continued circling.

There must be a  reason why it dies it.

Then it can be fixed.

landingAoa = 10*3.1415/180;

I deleted this from my cpp coz it made plane crash 200m before runway.

What does it all mean?

Obviously something to do with the autolanding approach.

Maybe adjusting this could fix prob.

Oh yeah another thing - when ejecting from plane you a propelled 50 ft up like ejection seat.

Not cool for my type of aircraft. (has solid canopy) crazy_o.gif

Marksman did a tutorial for setting up runways.

You can get it at his site here:

http://www.freewebs.com/marksmansofpsite/ofptutorials.htm

One thing though, if you are putting a runway on your own island, try to keep it North to South or South to North.

East to West and vica versa does not really work right.

There are various angles inbetween which work, but I can't remember exactly what they are.

The tutorial doesn't metion this, because I think it was written before this was discovered.

Just keep it in mind though.

This line is in the planes cpp file.

and if someone could give me a better understanding of its function it would be helpful.
