A comprehensive hand to hand system

Recommended Posts

Ok, I'm a sicko, but It would be cool to be able to switch over to a knife or machete or bayonette and have a system to sneak up and take out a sentry or just at that moment when you run out of your last magazine.... you dive into the bushes with your ka-bar.

It wouldn't be that hard to do. Have a hand to hand key that switches you over. Right mouse click to target body part and left mouse click to use your weapon: fist, knife, boot, rifle butt, bayonette, whatever. That would be sweet.

It would be killer to be able to stomp the wounded fleeing enemies.

A grab or disarm move would be cool too. You could take the sentry's AK from him, buttstroke to the head, and empty the magazine into him.

I think it would be cool. Many many times, I have ran low on ammo, and could have crawled in the bush with some opponent and dreaded wasting the bullets when a knife would have been better.

How about some imput on this.

Maybe we could go one step further and have all the sicko death effects from rotten.com applied to a video game one day.

Man, I think you might have a little too much hatred in your system. wink_o.gif

But anyway, hand to hand has been suggested a few times, and yes of course it should be in there, right now you're kind of stuck without ammo, unless you get yourself a vehicle...

1) How many times have you actually came close enough to someone to knife them?

2) If you're out of ammo, there should be some dead enemies lying around....

3) apart from that, why not eh

Though it would be a nice feature, I dont think it would be very high on my list of cool additions or changes to an OFP sequel.

Anyway...its hard enought o move your character through indoors, how can you expect to use a knife in close range? lol wink_o.gif

Just give us SOMETHING to try and do without ammo... smile_o.gif (don't say just fling it out)

I agree, they need to fix the problems with moving around indoors, and I like the talk about fixing the blood problems, and adding the ragdoll effect, but if you could mix the good things about OFP with the good things about Splintercell, and all the others. Man, that would be killer.

I like the way that heartbeat effects your sight picture and when you crawl prone, it's better than the "slide on your belly thing" that all the other 1st person shooters do.

I just think hand to hand would add a higher level to it.

Targeting of body parts to be "grabbed, cut, stabbed, kicked etc" and then pulling it off would be great.

HKMW!

Umm, well that's not as far as I'd like to see it taken, but anywho, we'll see what happens. wink_o.gif
