Sharia 0 Posted November 19, 2003 'Ello, Looks like I finally got my hands on the full version of OFP. And it came with Red Hammer and Resistance, too. Man, the patches really make the game so much better. Anyway... a few questions and stuff from me. 1) Can you all tell me what's the best addon units to download? I currently use all the BAS stuff, These really cool Russian naval marines/spetz, and that's about it. My main criteria is aircraft. Love 'em. (I loved that F/A-18c addon... but the way the engine sounded really put me off. It was basically the sound of an aircraft doing a flyby constantly... wish I could edit it out. ) Also, replacement units and tanks would be welcome. 2) How can I go about editing missions already made by BIS/Codemasters? I want to replace some of the stuff with units that BAS have made. 3) I seem to be having a few performance problems. My PC is an AMD XP2000+ processor, with 256mb DDR ram and a 128mb geforce4 ti4600 graphics card. I'm pretty sure that the ram is the problem... but I just thought I'd confirm it. (I'll probably buy an extra 512mb of ram tomorrow.) Anyway, that's me. Please don't lock this topic... I just want some quick answers, heh...
Wilco 944 Posted November 19, 2003 You could get your hands on the Tornados, really impressive http://ofp.gamezone.cz/index.php?sekce=unofaddons/aircrafts Full list of aircraft, its really just an opinion of how you like them
edc 0 Posted November 19, 2003 To edit missions in the campaign, or single missions, un-pbo the mission's/campaign's pbo file, in either the OFP/Campaigns folder or the OFP/Missions folder. To unpbo a pbo file(pbo's are kinda like zip's, in the respect that they compress and contain other files), you need a utility, I would highly suggest PBO Decryptor(to extract), and Make PBO (to recompress), both by Amalfi. You can find both of these at OFPEC. Once you've extracted them, you can place the folders containing the mission, in your OFP/User/user name/missions folder. Then you can open them in the editor. After you've made your changes, just do the opposite, compress the folders back to pbos, then put them in the OFP/Missions folder(if it'a a single mission). You might want to back up the originals before you do that.
Mr. Snrub 0 Posted November 19, 2003 For aircraft addons, you'd be hardpressed to go past Footmunch, especially his recent F-4 Phantom addon, which you can find at his site. Also, have a crack at Skaircro's newly released F-5E. As for the performance issue, download the lastest drivers for your graphics card (if you haven't already) and check out this tweak guide for OFP. Hope this helps

theavonlady 2 Posted November 19, 2003 BlackDog, where do I get the Mi-28 'Havoc' (RHS)? It's not got a link on the boneyard site. The RHS Havoc has not been released yet. Only DKM Mod's very nice Havoc is available at present.
