Okie guys

I've made my final decission on a matter i've been struggling with for a long time and I have finally come to bears with reality. My mod needs a new mod leader, one who is more experienced to lead such a project as the one I currently lead. When I find a new leader I will hand over notes, addons, and a few other things that i have made over the past year that my mod has been around the ofp scene. I will still have a say in the mod and where it goes but leadership will be brought down to someone else who has more experience.

I do have some good news though.  A quality A website for The Forgotten War: Conflict in Korea is finally being finished and will soon be up, so whoever takes control of the mod will have a website

remember, I aint leaving the mod, I just need a new leader to lead it, because i'm done with that part

This is what our webpage, a glance, at what it will look like

I know hte huey needs to be taken out of hte picture

Hey m8 - great work on having got this far with it.

It's a shame because Korea would be another conflict well-suited to OFP's engine methinks, and it looks like you're planning something well-researched and ambitious.

Just a thought - many of the weapons you list have already been done by I44, Sebnam, Colonial War, and BAS/JAM. Also the Willys jeep by I44, Bratty's Corsair and Footmunch's Skyraider. What do you think about getting permission to use these with a few textures changed, plus the Phuoc Tuy Province or Ilo Ilo islands, and using your mission-making skills with those units?

Cheers,

Cornhelium

Dont know.  I will let the next leader of my mod make that final decission.  For now the mod has a 30cals, bunkers, and ya.

I will still remain in it and it will not be the end of this mod, don't get me wrong.

Not to mention, I would like a really good leader to take care of my mod, someone...with experience

Until I find a leader for the mod and unfortanetly no one has said anything yet I will still be in command.

We still need a mod leader

I got some very good news!

A mod leader that i thought had been lost to the grand old world has come back again and surprised us majorly!  SIX TANKS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED FOR US BY HIM!!

I told him to do that like a long time ago but he has a life that he needed to pay attention to more over the mod and getting the tanks done around now is like so much going to help us out.  I will have pictures of each of the six tanks very soon for you all!

I can tell you same thing I always hear and would like to see myself.

Why don't you guys join up with for example: The Unsung Mod

So you can work on Vietnam stuff together!

Same thing I hear and wish about WW2 teams

LOL

I've though about the samed damned thing. Hehe I like it that drow is like the closest person involved in OFP to my position. He lives about 40 minutes north from me in Vancouver, BC biggrin_o.gif

Anyways, ya, thinking about it for I don't think at the moment, we can keep a Korean War mod going seeing as there is hardly anyone in the OFP community in the favor of addon makers and texturers, so in turn, joining another mod and hopefully donating are work to that one would probably be the best choice ( man ollie, our historian and storyboarder, will probably kill me for these thoughts sad_o.gif )

I will talk to Drow about this move, and I think yes, I would have to agree, there isnt much more of anything that we can do other than that until OFP 2 comes out, then I can guarranttee more people = more addon makers, texturers and shit and then The Korean War will rise up!

Now I will have to look at what Drow thinks about the 30caliber machine gun I proessess.  I'm wondering if he'd like to use it.

If not i'll find someone suitable to own it around here for there mod.  Jut have to wait for waffendenis's animations  sad_o.gif

I have to wait for OFP to be revitalized with mod makers, addon makers, scripters, and texturers once the coming of OFP 2 is about!

well i have read thru this thread, and it seems like every mod has the same problems...

but youre definitly welcome to join The Unsung if the korean war is going on hold till ofp2, we are in desperate need of addon makers to help finish the island objects needed.

I plan to ensure that the unsung's missions are some of the best, but thats hard to do when the island isnt finished yet...

(needs firebases, villages, bombed out hills, bridges.. etc.)

tounge_o.gif

sorry to hijack the thread with the unsung shit...

best of luck with the mod, you said yourself you can model... just make some good models yourself to get people to join, noone wants to join an empty party, get it started yourself,

i wish i could model, i only have the island to work on for now.

Dear Members and OFP friends,

I'm very, very sorry for not chatting with you all before hand about making this descission, but its the best that we can do.

I believe we will close the mod up now, this will probably be my end decission on this matter. I will inform all mod members of the plan.

We will pack up, ship out, go our own ways, join other mods, then when OFP 2 is out we will come back and unpack our bags to shake the world with the first big mod.

By then I do hope that the community will be revitalized with people and material.

I know that some of you still had hope out for this mod and that it would get better over time but I don't see that right now. If someone else who recieves this email is willing to take up and lead the mod, I will hand complete control of all available resource in this mod to them.

Your's Sincerely,

~Bmgarcangel

Sorry to hear it buddy, but glad to hear you will restart it in ofp2!

You and anyone on your team who wants to are most welcome to come aboard The Unsung if you would like to remain active untill OFP2, we could sure use the members.

Best of luck to you all in whatever you plan to do!

Ya always looking for new people for your mod, even in this sad time for me you still put pressure one mE!!!! mad_o.gif

God dude crazy_o.gif

We would have easily become one of the biggest and must historical mods in the Opeartion Flashpoint Community. That was my plan, keep the campaigns and addons exactly like they would be in real life ( that includes some tanks with without abrams looking or zooming in and out optics plus keeping campaigns to the absolute line with realisim ).

Now this is still a chance for anyone who is willing to lead a good mod to victory to lead this mod!

Anyhow guys, we will be putting all the addons that we currently hold into a addon pack, that is, after we finish them all.

Addons will include:

Tanks made by Dragon

Browning 30 Caliber Machine guns made by ME

Bunkers made by ME

Thats probably it. Not sure.

Sorry I said Vietnam rather than Korean but I meant Korea.

Sorry to hear sad news if your given totally up?

Again maybe you should concentrate on one addon at a time (look whos talking!)

But instead of looking too big, concentrate on something you like.

My Pacific mod may never end,I plan on using other peoples stuff,I just plan on making the planes and boats I want.

Drow has an active Korean mod and is looking for members, just think what you could do together.

Most often a joint addon that a couple people worked on tend to come out very nice!

Good Luck to you.

haha!!

Na he wouldn;t have a korean war mod!1

plus, we need to make a bunch of soldier models, even the US ones dont look exactly like ww2 soldiers. But I need to make probably more then 300 different soldier models all in:

North Korean

Chinese

South Korean

American

British

French

Canadian

And a few other ones. But in each of those countries will be officers, officers with winter clothes, without helmets, et.c,etc.,etc.

And say like the americans, i dont just plan for them to only have like one or three different types of divissions.

hard shit

Alright People

I request the help of the community, aka volunteers, to help texture a few addons for our mod.  We will soon be releasing our third and probably last for now addon pack.  This will include:

- M1919a4 30 caliber machine gun's on tripod.

- M1919a4 30 caliber machine gun's on without tripod.

- M1919a6 30 caliber machine gun with bipod.

- Plus custom animations for these guns ( which are being made by Waffendenis!

- Two Sandbag fortifications.

- One Bunker fortification.

- Sherman and other tanks made by our Tank modeller, Dragon.

After the pack is released we will probably pack up.  As you all know, not enough people want to help us out.  Not enough texturers.

hey guys

I just found a little bit of an odd weapon for korean/post ww2 era. Take it a sniper rifle with Night vision

Quote[/b] ]snipscm1.jpg

Infrared Sniperscope M1, .30 caliber carbine M3

Infrared Sniperscope M3

The US Carbine, Caliber .30in, M3, or T3, was an M2 with suitable mountings prepared on the receiver to take various models of infra-red night-sighting devices. No open or conventional sights were provided. The M3, (its development title was T3), was produced in limited numbers as a semi-prototype. Only about 2100 were manufactured compared to 5,510,000 M1 carbines, 150,000 M1A1 carbines and 570,000 M2 carbines.

These infrared weapons were developed in 1943 by the Army, precisely to defeat the infiltration tactics of the Japanese. Although fewer than 500 units were actually used, the Sniperscope accounted for about 30% of total Japanese casualties suffered by small-arms fire during the first week of the Okinawa campaign.

Few combat personnel in the Korean War were aware that the US possessed infrared night-vision capability. Those who did know, didn't welcome them. Objections were mostly focused on their bulk and susceptibility to damage.
