Captain Kickass 0 Posted December 10, 2001 Well anyone?
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted December 10, 2001 I like it this way. Its so much fun to run to a window, here a shotgun, turn around and see this paniced civilian trying to reload that gun as fast as he can... And then just place a nice large hole in the middle of his head. Uhm... Am i sick ?
Havelock 0 Posted December 10, 2001 Quite possibly Mr Espectro. Anyway, I recieved my lovely DVD-style case and shiny happiness inducing disc in the post today (1st copy of Red Hammer in Hungary?) and have been playing it almost non-stop since I got home from work (about 5 hours now, I worship at the altar of Pizza Hut). The missions are harder ... and longer! I have finished lots of the missions as the only man standing, shedding a tiny tear for my oppos. But the missions are great! Highlights so far: Sniping the pilots of two Chinooks before going 'Doh!' as I find the Strela launcher. Oh, and the Shore Bombardment in the 'Kill 4 vulcans using a toothpick' mission. Right, now to stop those nasty Americans from re-acquiring Malden. d*amn colonial(ist)s!
Epyon9283 0 Posted December 10, 2001 Red Hammer is a #### of a lot harder! I just got it and on the first mission(should be easy right?) everyone in my squad dies and Im the only one left at the fuel station. I still have to go to the town and take out the rest of the civilians by myself with an injured arm. Its not fun.
Martin 0 Posted December 10, 2001 i think that red hammer is very fun..not that hard..

Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted December 11, 2001 Yea, I also just completed that mission, got 2 stars for it It was darn hard at the fuel station (for a first mission). But its easy at the town u arrive to later on. Killed all 3 of them myself.

I arrived at Tyrone (I think that's the name), saw the dead Russians, as per cut scene, and crawled in towards 1st house on extreme left. You only saw 3? I saw 3 prone, 1 in a house and another 1 or 2 lurking about. And this is where I'm stuck, because the AI are accurately killing me with one shot from a Czech shotgun at long distance without a clear line of site. I'll crack it eventually but here's an unrealistic example of where the AI and weapon model are both on steroids, IMO.
Konyak 0 Posted December 11, 2001 I think I had about 3 teammates left after Fuel station, and one bought it pretty soon after we hit Tyrone. We were pinned on the ground and I couldn't see any NME's, but did see one muzzle flash in the first garden behind a wall, and contrary to my usual stay low and play smart tactic, I got up, ran towards the garden, and pitched a grenade as far as I could. It hit dead on target and when I got there, 5 Civ's in a heap, and we had to get two or three more in houses Next mission was great, long and cautious, not amazlingly hard though, at least not the final airport assault. So far, a very good 5 pounds worth Konyak
Krull SGC 0 Posted December 11, 2001 The Red Hammer missions are great, and I have enjoyed all of them so far, though I particularly enjoyed the ones after the retreat from Everon? (I think, its Everon anyway). I definately think that they are more challanging, though not necessarily harder, anyhow just wait until you get to Mission 13 I think, commanding a squad has some new fun elements. Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted December 11, 2001 Yea, theres a few people in the houses. IMHO i think when u get to tyrone its easy. Killed them all by myself. (We were 3 left, the two others had their legs smahsed, and i dint wanted to wait for them). I also saw the enemy in the cutscene and initiallised the assault by throwing 2 grenades into the garden, taking the person in the window down, and now therir only 3-4 left. giskard 0 Posted December 11, 2001 I like it hard too. Theres something about a marine with an m16 shooting me at 200m before I with my m21 can hit him over the same distance from under my bushy hiding place that is very funny BTW the mission on Everon where you have to capture the airport, breaks if you go for the training camp before you break up the miltia meeting. The training camp waypoint never changes. Even of you complete the airport part of the mission, it never says you it is completed. Giskard
Havelock 0 Posted December 11, 2001 Having a played a tad more since I posted last night ... I think the mission(s) where you are one of two people comanding a T72 are a tad tricky, maybe too much so. I don't mind long missions that end with just one man (me, hopefully) left standing. But trying to use the external tank view as a gunner (so you can see where you are going) whilst issuing keyboard commands to the driver is just TOO frustrating. mads bahrt 0 Posted December 12, 2001 Just wait until you get to the alamo - the thing i until now has missed most is a mission where you have plenty of time to prepare a defence. Now i got it. Being a combat engineer I also worshipped the idea of beeing able to fortify a whole town in the game. If someone could make a coop conversion of that mission it would be quite cool. Which brings me to: You can get the 1985 campaign as coop missions - can someone make a conversion of the Red Hammer Campaign? (Edited by mads bahrt at 6:09 am on Dec. 12, 2001) <span id='postcolor'> Having completed all 60 missions Alamo is the one that I'll never forget. Â All my squad but 1 was killed by the first M60 platoon...... and the guy that was left wouldn't do anything I told him but I did it eventually. Â Only annoying thing about Red Hammer is that after everything you go through with Lukin he changes sides........The early missions are pretty tough but they get easier about half way through. You have to use your head in a few of them though, especially 'savior' ;-) (Edited by elpep at 7:17 pm on Dec. 12, 2001)

SpaceAlex 0 Posted December 12, 2001 Hm. What 60 missions. U meant you finished original campaign + Red Hammer, didn't u. Well. That's 62 missions. Anyway. All missions in Red hammer were great for me. Not too hard, at all. Almoust all my teammates survived the second mission. I got 5 or more stars there. Compared to Alamo, that mission was nothing. I'm proud to say that Alamo was not too hard for me either. I think, that mission was really fun. First abrams was destroyed by mines. All other M60 ttanks were destroyed by mines, a few satchels around the base and the bigger part was destroyed by my AT louncher. I was standing next to the ammo crates with AT missles all the time. I kept, reloading and destroying M60's. Some of the got me from time to time, but i saved the game, so there were no problems.(Yes u could call this cheating in this game, but i love to save the game more then once from time to time. Not always. And this is the only cheat i'm using. If u can call this cheating.) One of my best missions in Red Hammer is Rage. u must destroy ammo, fuel and choppers. Very fun. Red Hammer is a nice campaign. Too bad that it has only 20 missions, but they are hard and long, so it's ok.
