Cant update to anything higher than 1.85

K, i need help. Ever since i've bought operation flashpoint, whenever i get to a mission where you have to decide if you want to betray a soldier, or kill the enemy. If I kill the enemy,

The game runs fine. If I betray the guy, then it shows me driving off, and starts loading next mission. When it is loading mission then it just crashes to desktop EVERY TIME ! All other campaigns work fine. I've reinstalled a ton but still doesnt work. Also, when i try to upgrade to 1.91, the updater says that it patched succesfully (Sometimes. other times it says it has error reading something). Then i try to run it, but it syas cd isnt in the drive, when it is... I think it might have something to do with the file r04.rathole.noe.pbo (Which i think is the mission where it crashes) PLZ HELP!!

Yah, im tryin that now but so far not working... U think it could have sometin to do with graphics, or low virtual memory?

Send us crash files as suggested in the topics mentioned and we may be able to tell you more. Without any data about your system and configuration it is next to impossible to tell you what is wrong.

I am currently at 1.92 and after installing the patch you don't want to use the old existing shortcut to flashpointresistance.exe anymore

I had to make a new shortcut that points to:

Flashpoint192beta.exe

You prolly realize this,but just checking

I didnt use a shortcut. I went straight to the folder in explorer and ran it. anyways, i didnt get any beta. I got plain v 1.91. ill list sys info below. its from dxdiag.

Windows XP Pro 5.1

AMD athlon, mmx, 3d now, 1049 MHz

128 mb RAM

DirectX 8.1

NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440

and im using setting direct3d hw t&l on game

Also, if i ever put game on 1024 x 768 res, monitor like blacks out and power light turns to idle. Happens with every game

But fixes if i put 1 setting lower...

Upgrade your RAM!

Get at least 256, and get 512 if possible!

Oh, and 1024x768 might be too high of a refresh rate. Your monitor might not support it.
