Weird track animation

Hi there

I have a problem with the track animation of my panther tank. It's driving me mad and i dunno what the hell is wrong. See that pic :

This is what happen when the traks starts to move. The animation is fucked up as u can see... there are "gaps" in the animation...

I tried to replace the texture file by a working one, and i have the same problem.

I tried to take a working track and replace the texture file with my texture file and it works fine.

So the problem is not from my texture itself.

The model seems to be alrite and the selections are done properly.

So it looks like I havent applied the textures like i was supposed to... So can anyone have a look at this and explain me what's wrong ? How i am suppoed to apply these textures to have the track working properly ?

good news : I think i solved the problem...

It seems like if i apply a texture from a .pbo which name is longuer than 8 characters (or something like that), for exemple :

"ECA_Panther\Paas.pac"

Then i'll have the animation bug.

If i try to replace the texture using the properties dialog by another texture from a .pbo with a short name, it doesnt fix the animation...

BUT if i apply directly the textures from the .pbo with a short name, for exemple :

"FAB_PzV\Paas.pac"

And i apply that texture rather than replace the old one, then the animation works

Weird isnt it ?

The best explanation i have is it looks like applying a texture from a pbo with a long name will screw up UV coordinates, so the looping animation will not work properly...

Sometimes i start texturing the track and it works. So i carry on, and suddenly it screws up the whole thing !

This is really shit... I dont understand what the hell is going on with this damned thing !

This time the problem is definitly solved... Thanks a lot At !

I finally understood what you meant by not puting the texture over the track...

In fact when you texture a track, you align the texture with the track but your dont put it over it like you do with any other part of a vehicle :

you move it down, so it's away from the face you texture (but still aligned) and then apply the texture...

It sounded weird, but it works ! this way the texture works like a "mosaic mode" and the animation works !

I'm gonna make a tutorial about it asap
