Crashes to desktop during gameplay.

Recommended Posts

I have OPF 1.46 version and Resistance hasn't shown its face yet and is rumored to never show it either.

So I am stuck with this flashpoint, but I have a problem with it that makes me pretty mad.

It seems I only got like 5 minutes of gameplay or less, the time limit is the same before it does at CTD (Crash To Desktop)

I have some addons installed and they have been working perfectly for... well 5 months and why should they start bugging now when I didn't change the addon collection for 5 months? I still need to know the list of the official addons that ships with the game if removal.

Another thing it might be caused by is that I installed flashpoint some time ago, updated it and then started reinstalling windows.

I had to do that due to a bug with my Nforce 2 system.

So when reinstalling OPF I didn't want to go through the update hell so I installed the game in a different folder to get the CD key in the registry and then reroute the shortcuts to the old OPF.

It worked flawlessly some time ago until yesterday.

I can't seem to figure out whats the problem, so I am asking here.

I do not know the driver number on the Nforce 2 drivers at the moment however.

I am running Windows XP SP1A <--- needed to make the Nforce 2 work.

Rig specs:

EPoX 8RDA+ C1 Northbridge stepping aka Nforce 2 Ultra 400 Revision 1.1 and latest BIOS.

AMD Athlon XP 2000 T-bred A core, at stock 1.69 vcore.

2x 256Mb TwinMOS Pc 3200 DDR RAM Dual channel, agressive timings, still higher than recommended from factory.

Creative 3D Blaster 4 Titanium 4600 = Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4600, running 41.03 detonators unlocked for Quadro4 but still at GeForce, at stock speed.

1x 4Gb Western Digital unknown RPM, houses WIN XP.

1x 20Gb IBM, 7200 RPM.

1x Funai 16x CD-ROM

1x AOpen 48x 12x 52x CD-RW drive.

My system has been overclocked a little but have been backpeddaled when the CPU didn't run stable at XP 2100 with 1.79 Vcore.

Currently at stock with latest BIOS, only thing that is outdated is the Nforce drivers, but their size and lack off internet connection at home to download new ones makes it an hard task.

So I hope I can make the game run again...
