UnYx 0 Posted October 13, 2003 There has benn for ages a translation PB in OFP : the translation of "kick " in the lobby of the French installed game is "Coup d'envoi" which means "blow of sending" ... so ambiguious that many kicks occured by mistake (indeed I was witness of one by a friend of mine a few min ago ). Even if not 100% French looking, "Kicker" would be more appropriate, since it wouldn't be ambiguious. A more french rooted translation would be "éjecter" (rem: the kick message displays "player XXXXX a été éjecté", where we find the same verb.) cya & have fun Rem. : I've tested 1.94 beta tonight, looks fine
Lupus-WD- 0 Posted October 13, 2003 i didnt know of that error in the french version as i use OFP in english, but sure, it's some weird "Contre-sens" , as "coup d'envoi" means "kick-off" , like in the beginning of a football game... see the confusion ;P
benu 1 Posted October 14, 2003 Some of the german translations are strange too But i don't mind as i play the game in english anyway, i just notice it when other german players are playing...
