theavonlady 2 Posted October 2, 2003 The Real MBT Pack and the Real IFV pack is THE best addon overall if you want a good simulation of armored warfare involving accurate damage simulation from Sabots and ATGM's based on armor type and armor thickness. We'll all have to wait hopefully for OFP 2 to solve this problem or buy the game "Steel Beasts" and play it instead.I love the ATGM barrel launched missiles on the T80, the so called Equalizer against M1 Abrams greater accuracy and kill probability than the T80 Sabot accuracy. Â Unfortuantely, in RL it would not be a very effective AT weapon against the M1, unless the missile is designed to pop up and hit from the top of the tank. Â Regular ATGM's launched from armored vehicles will damage the M1's ballistic computers, wreck tracks, and possibly destroy the ammo hold in the back, but the tank will keep standing and fighting on, or allow the crew to abandon it in time. Â The biggest threat to the M1 really is from the side with the ATGM's, however it is well protected on its side with Cohoabm (excuse the spelling) armor covering the tracks and the advanced Ceramic layer Armor with Dupleted Uranium strengthing the multilayered slab armor on the turret. Even though I wish OFP-R had more than one gunner position availble, the .50 MG on top for AA on both tanks is a real help in swatting those flying bugs. Â It might not shoot them down like a Vulcan or other land based Air Defense, but it might save the day in a bind with a platoon of tanks firing at the airborne threat. stgn 39 Posted October 3, 2003 make some missions where you are in a support rolle and not atacker or defender. like you are flying an apache and has defend the infantry moving forward to destroy the shilkas from attacking T72 tanks and then there should be adde meany aa and shilkas so it would be very dagerous to fly solo. and maby some times you would need to fly back and rearm(which should be done very quick to keep the upper hand on the ennemy forces. Maby your forces should have some Bradlys and M113s so the ennemys pilboxes diden't masacred you troops. or make the troops folow a M60 so they would be in cover unti they reached the ennemys positions. Acecombat 0 Posted October 3, 2003 If you mean the one by Remo then yes i will since it has some of the fundamental things such as units and vehicles which i need , but i will go the realistic way and will use addons that appeal to that era like Wolfs Toyota truck and other addons. Of course sound files will play a crucial role they make or break the missions atmosphere , if you know any place where i can get some common background type voices and noise tell me or give me a URL will be of much help , specific to afghan missions if anyone has Bin Ladens tape on PC plz rip off the sound off for ME Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

SpearheadUK 0 Posted October 5, 2003 did i kill this forum? im tying to keep it alive here anyway, i added a new section onto the SofpG site, called "Site B" (a little jurrasic park thing going on there ) it will host the downloads, screenshots and possibly a second team of mission makers that can work on campaigns. check out the screenshots screenshots section and tell me what you think, any suggestions for missions? and ect ect....
