dodo 0 Posted December 17, 2001 i would like to get new speakers but i dont know if i should get sterio or 5.1 does OFP have this option. pleas let me know asap thanks
suma 8 Posted December 17, 2001 OPF is able to use both Quad and 5.1 speakaers. You only need to turn sound HW acceleration on. Be sure to install latest drivers, especially for SB Live, as older drivers contained some bugs (one of them caused footsteps to be very loud).
DDT GoodGuy 0 Posted December 17, 2001 hey dod i have 5.1 surround sound i have boston surround sound w/subwoofer and it works just marvelous for ofp but like that guy said make sure you get the latest sb live drivers or there will be some very annoying sounds if you use old ones
SpaceAlex 0 Posted December 17, 2001 I have 5.1 with subwoofer (cambridge Sound Works) and OFP sound is just great. If u don't have the latest drivers Radio voice will be strange and as Suma said, footsteps will be loud as ####. eyes 0 Posted December 18, 2001 SpaceAlex if he turns of H/W acceleration he won't get full surround sound. I have a soundblaster live linked up to my home cinema system and I get the annoying bug with footsteps when I have the h/w accel. on. Haven't updated my drivers in a month or so though. SpaceAlex 0 Posted December 18, 2001 He won't or he will. I get surround sound in both ways. With HW acceleration on or off.
jedisalf 0 Posted December 19, 2001 I haven't pick up my new system yet, but It will come with the Sound Blaster Live XGamer 5.1, but my speakers will be the sSound works 4.1 (FPS-1000). Will this difference between the sound card and the speakers bring me any problems at all or not?..... Im not really good with hardware, so is this sound card the same as yours (wich means I have the footsteps problems) or maybe not? THanx
Rogue2020 0 Posted December 19, 2001 Maybe that's why the foot steps are pretty loud for me in the game.....I bought SB live platinum like 10 months ago but there hasn't been any new drivers for it.....and new ones say it can't be used with platinum.....
