Request - Remove heli ROTOR blur , or at least reduce it.

Recommended Posts

The AH-6 rotor blur is strobing on my screeen, the shadows are unbearable etc etc.

A gray static rotor blur would be Awesome.

I'm doing a lot of aggressive flying on an angle and darn, that strobe rotor blur is annoying.

Heelp!

George.

@George_Smiley I think the problem with the shadows is perhaps that you have the shadows on low, if you put them on high, they should not bother, or directly disabled.

I turn the shadows on an off now and then. But the flickering rotor and the cabin shadows... if I could get rid of those and still have the Heli ground shadow...

If fact just the heli shadow on the ground would be ACE.

Not having been in a real heli... I am not sure what the rotor blur should look like... but a grey disk WOULD BE AWESOME.

Mate. Still flying a storm in Chernogorsk.  Getting my skills on.  :- )

@George_Smiley Yes, but I actually think it's not a question of the rotor blur, for me it's the animation, I think...
In my opinion, I actually think what happens is that the rotor animation is slow, maybe if it spun faster it wouldn't be so annoying...:scratchchin:

Ah yeah that makes sense, The rotor speed, what is the real rotor RPM in real life ? ??? can't be that fast.

I crash before I run out of fuel. :- )

Working on drills to practise around Cherno.  The more I look at it the more I have much respect for the map makers. They have paid attention to what a port city would look like.  It's cool. Back in the day I used to PVP in there... it was nuts. and Zeds invading the buildings... fun times.

My new "collective" is really awesome for landing. Makes so much difference, getting good at descending from about 50m and flaring at the last moment to settle. It's rad.

The actual "with a proper joystick and rudder control" FM is really nice. It's cool.

Mate. :- )

the Civil MD530F which is the most similar to the MH and AH6 the rpm would supposedly be:
rotor rpm: main rotor: 477 rpm, tail rotor: 2848 rpm

In any case we can't know how many rpm the animation rotates at...

Yes, they have always created incredible islands, very well made.

Actually the flight model, if you can call it that, is just to have air vehicles for support, troop transport, remember that it is not a flight simulator, the vehicles are there because they are necessary, but nothing more, with a realistic flight model you could not do all the crazy things that can be done in ArmA.In reality, the flight model, if you can call it that, is only to have aerial vehicles for support, troop transport, remember that it is not a flight simulator, the vehicles are there because they are necessary, but nothing more.

But it is definitely fun to fly helicopters in ArmA, no doubt about that.

I agree on the premise of the vehicles but I think the heli's are pretty darn good for a "non flight sim". They are super simple but ... you can fly a BO-105 upside down for bit...

Here is a video of the BO105, I'm sure you'll like it, it's more agile, faster and you can't see the rotor blades.

ok, so is this the bo105 that is part of the DAF mod OR is it a vehicles only mod ???

nice limbo under that angle elevator thingy. That's quite tricky. But the pipe over the road is much harder...

Wow your FOV is wide... I am resinged to making mine not so wide and using HT to see the edges...

I think we need to work on some heli flying challenges.... hhhmmm ???

:- )

That's right, it's the DAF one

It's actually the FOV I use with Virtual Reality, to see it well on my Oculus Rift I have that FOV, but the resolution is 2160x1200, so with that FOV it looks good, to record casual videos I don't use Oculus, I just change the resolution to 1080p and record, that's why it looks like that.
I don't change the FOV, because I have to be editing the file all the time and I'm lazy.🤣

 2160x1200,

You have 2:1  wow. Rad.

The Bo105 has a high sink rate and pulling out of dives etc is a thing not to be messed up. Like it's way too heavy.

but not being a real heli pilot.... I could not compare it to anything other than what I have tried so far.

I do like the OH-13 and I was trying to shoot up a Tunguska with it last night.  2x .30 versus some massive cannons...

I may have mad it mad. at least.

My new shooting technonique  ( when situations allow ) is to come in on a course that takes me past the target and I yaw

to aim at them and increase yaw as I go past. Much better results. on a slight bank.  diving in directly at speed means is I miss it's all over and I have to do it

again. The perils of aerial gunnery...  I did delete quite a few UAZ's in practise.

Cleaned up my Sony Camera ... replaced the lense with a spare as it has UFO's inside it. sigh... no head tracking is less janky.

George.

Yeah I was doing a lot of looping around trying to get behind the turret.  I found I can gain altitude faster than it can elevate.

I managed to hose it down with .30 but it still got me, it did pause shooting... I may have damaged it's targeting radar...
