Laid3acK 79 Posted July 16 (edited) Hello everyone, Courtesy of the author Grave, a little Ace3 compat for the weapon's mod JCA - M115A3 (Workshop link). Can be played with or without Ace3. Default ballistic muzzle velocities according to Advanced Ballistics ICAO muzzle velocities (15°C, 1013.25 hPa, 0%). Default ballistic airFriction based on Advanced Ballistics ICAO ballistic coefficients and drag models with the ACE3 tool by Ruthberg. ACE3 "mass" according to manufacturers datas. ACE3 values according to the Accuracy International AWM .338LM L115A3 27" barrel twist 1:11. .338 LM ammunition according to Lapua Scenar 250gr GB488 datas. Add .338 LM AP485 Armor Piercing according to Lapua datas. Add .338 LM API526 Armor Piercing Incendiary according to Lapua datas. Add AtragMx presets and accurate mRad reticle calibration. Add "ACE_ScopeHeightAboveRail" from ACE3 "checkScopes.sqf". Add "ACE_railHeightAboveBore" from ACE3 "checkScopes.sqf". Github repository for more information. krzychuzokecia 717 Posted July 17 Very useful addition - finally makes the scope on JCA M115 actually functional. Have you thought about making similiar thing for JCA Gen 4 Weapons pack? At least the MRPS scope (which also has completely borked reticle) and 7.62 ARs from that pack. Now, since your compat is obviously made for ACE, I propose one change: fixing the vanilla-style BDC zero range to 100 meters only. As it is now, it's possible to change both ACE turret adjustment and vanilla zero setting at the same time. This, naturally, means that even though you have dialed the value from rangecard, you will be off because the drop won't be calculated from initial zero (100 meters by default in ACE). It can happen in two ways: 1. When using [PGUP] and hitting max adjustment on the turret (IIRC 27 on HPPO scope), next press of button will change BDC zero from 100 to 200. You may not even notice it (if you decided to hide vanilla UI in ACE options), but it happens, and your shot will hit low; 2. When using [CTRL]+scroll combination to change turret adjustment in ACE (which is the same combination used for vanilla zero change), both will change at the same time. Leading to very, very off zeroing, since dialing 1.5 on turret requires 15 "actions" of scroll wheel (turret "clicks"), which in vanilla system means changing BDC to 1500 meters. I've seen this behaviour in other 3rd party scopes (mostly from NIArms/Toadie2k), ones that are made with vanilla A3 BDC adjustment system in mind. However looking at how ACE does their configs (and how RHS set up scopes in the RHS-ACE compat) it seems that proper way for scopes to work with ACE turret adjustments is to have their zero fixed at 100 meters and nothing else. Laid3acK 79 Posted July 18 With ACE3, the effective zeroing distance is on the range card and only on the range card. Since my first compats, the scopes are configured with an "ACE_ScopeZeroRange". It's very useful with very specific reticles like this one. That means the zeroing will be always the same (100m with JCA scope) even if the player changes the vanilla discreteDistance, intentionally or accidentally, with the both ACE3 ballistics, default and advanced. That has no effect on the bullet trajectory since ACE3 3.12 if i remember correctly (big effect with the 3.11). To be honest, i hesitated to use the sub folder like the ACE3 compats. Perhaps i will do an update with it.
