Tamme 0 Posted August 2, 2003 There was this article about SAS in some newspaper a long time ago. About their insane physical tests and such. I got interested, but haven't been able to find any more info. Do they have a web site? EDIT: Dont tell me "Google" I did search, but if I tried SAS I found Scandinavian Airlines. If I tried sea air service I found all kinds of travel agencies.

Shashman 0 Posted August 2, 2003 There are countless SAS handbooks,SAS history books, SAS survival guides out there that picture and go through the training to be an SAS member. You should be able to find quite a few in a second hand or new book shop. On BBC One last year there was even a series called "SAS: Are you tough enough?" where there were a bunch of people who thought they could do some of the things that the SAS do in training...Was quite entertaining

iNeo 0 Posted August 2, 2003 Oh yeah... I remember now. Where the hell did I get that "Sea Air Service"? Probably by mixing up with Navy SEAL (Sea Air Land) I have an SAS book which English title is "Ghost Force. The Secret History of the SAS," which covers most of their major operations. FSPilot 0 Posted August 2, 2003 There was a great show on the very early SAS on the history channel. It was great, they had these cheap computer animations of people driving around in jeeps blowing up Luftwaffe airplanes with machine guns.
Shashman 0 Posted August 2, 2003 A great book is "Secret War- Special forces and the war against terrorism" (The photograph on the cover is of SAS bang and breach at Iranian embassy siege)
