(soundcard) Geforce Pro 256 (32MB DDRam) 384MB system Ram!(PC100) CDRW and DVD-Rom Drives 20GB HD and a 10GB HD thats the basics! ok New System: P4 1.8Ghz 32MB AGP Graphics (unnamed!) 512MB Ram (would that be RD Ram?) onboard WaveTable 32 Sound DVD/CDRW combined drive 40GB HD is this motherboard anygood? SIS 650 Motherboard Both will run XP when new one arrives in about a week! AND can I play OPF over a LAN with only one CD? or do I need to buy another copy of the game? SIS 650 Motherboard ............................dont expect it to do anything more than provide stability..... Mister Frag 0 Posted December 30, 2001 The SIS 650 is a motherboard design without the Intel blessing that uses DDR RAM, not RDRAM. Most people won't notice the difference in memory bandwidth, and it allows you to use the much-cheaper DDR333/DDR266/PC133 RAM. Nice system. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Mister Frag 0 Posted December 30, 2001 I don't think GFX707 was serious, you would have to go out of your way these days to find a non-AGP graphics card. The SiS 650 does have an on-board VGA controller with up to 64MB of shared framebuffer memory, but it also supports AGP 1x/2x/4x with FastWrites. The most popular OEM graphics chipsets are made by NVIDIA, ATI, and PowerVR Technologies (Kyro), respectively, so I'm sure you'll get a fairly decent card. WisdoM 1 Posted December 30, 2001 Oh man you will notice a #### of a difference. specially with a CPU power hungry game like OFP. belive me you'll be more than satisfied, you'll probably wet yourself . I personally don't like Intel(this arguement can on for days, and has often times.) I would have gone teh AMD route, as they are cheaper and most times better. Mister Frag 0 Posted December 31, 2001 I just re-read the original post, and you are correct. I completely missed that! And the SiS 650 does have a built-in video solution that uses a shared framebuffer, but as far as I know it isn't limited to 32MB -- I would thing that they would have touted it as a 64MB 'thing' if that is what they were selling, simply because it is more impressive than 32MB.
