SpecOp9 0 Posted July 21, 2003 IMAGE 1 IMAGE 2 Cedaie and I have been discussing and checking out, viewing, making, watching, loving, specific meshes and scenes using various tools like 3DS Max 5 and Maya. What Picture do you feel is alot more realistic looking? (forum moderators sorry for the image size, but they did'nt seem too big when I posted them up... Hope they are not too big)

SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted July 21, 2003 Wow, I thought the first picture was a real house! The 2nd one looks pretty good to.
PiNs_Da_Smoka 0 Posted July 21, 2003 Very nice lighting on the first pic. Been away from 3d modelling for a while due to the army, but i still know good work when i see, very nice. Looks like something you might wanna show off on CGTalk.com or Renderosity.com, if you haven't already. Very nice work man. And the BMW is just smooth and purdy and needs no comments. SpeedyDonkey 0 Posted July 21, 2003 I vote number 1 if you haven't already. Very nice work man. And the BMW is just smooth and purdy and needs no comments. Pins, i dont think that SpecOp actually made those, he just wanted to show these nice pictures. And indeed, it's really good work! I wonder if he works for some game developing company? http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorials/timjones/images/image01.jpg
Nathanz 0 Posted July 21, 2003 The first one looks the most realistic  And this picture has to be the most realistic render iv ever seen   (and yes it is a render not a real model  ) This is also quite good: Pic
Guest Posted July 21, 2003 It's not really a good comparison I'm afraid. Can you post some links to pics that are more similar if you want to compare? Ta

iNeo 0 Posted July 21, 2003 Blahhh...I suppose Cedaie won that round :P We will do this again Cedaie! Only this time I'll win! MUAHAHAHA!! You got my vote But only because I thought it was real pictures hehe, didn't read your post before I voted. Both are very nice but I'd say the first one does look more realistic. SpecOp9 0 Posted July 21, 2003 Also, for high quality super realistic scenes like that, you use a variety of tools and not just one. Some programs have better effects than others, for example Maya uses strong lighting effects and reflections ETC. 3DS Max 5 does the same, but when you put the 2 together you get something even better. Cedaie says that the movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, was made using more than just one modelling program. But yes those images are 3DS Max 5. What Cedaie and I use when we make models is Mesh Smooth, it is very very helpfull when creating mostly characters, NURMS also. Purchase 3DS Max 5 Send me a PM by forum, Cedaie and I will help you out ----------------------------- Personally I cannot wait for Carrara Studio 3 pic1 pic2 $399.00 (American) While there may be other ways of getting the program that I will not explain... (I am just gonna say I'l purcase it) I have 3DS Max 5 now, after working for it... Only 16 years old and I want a "real" job
