Chomps 0 Posted June 19, 2003 I recently tried a little mulitplayer mission with some friends with BAS's Kiowa Warrior and an A-10 armed with laser guided bombs. I got into the air with the Kiowa Warrior with another player as the gunner. Meanwhile, another guy was waiting on the runway nearby in the A-10. My gunner paints a nearby building with the designator, however for me as the pilot, the dot does not become a diamond, and the pilot of the A-10 reports he does not pick up the laser target on his radar. I told him to make sure it was on by hitting fire, so I don't think that was a problem. What went wrong? Is it because BAS's Kiowa Warrior specifically doesn't work? Is something additional required in the mission scripting? Do the laser designators work at all in multiplayer? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

KeyCat 126 Posted June 20, 2003 I've tried the same thing many times in the past and last time was when BAS just released their Kiowa but we never got it to work when sitting two humans (i.e pilot and gunner) in the same chopper and I think this Kiowa LD thing has been broken since day one in MP. Â BAS_SOFLAM works fine with the A10LGB in coop. I have'nt tried BAS-kiowa in MP but the original Kiowa works fine with the A10LGB in coop. A buddy of mine and I play alot of missions where one carries a laserdesignator and the other fly a A10-LGB. Works great. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

As I said the problem starts when you are two (2) Â humans in the same Kiowa - no go for us! Can't remember what OFP-version though, but it was atleast 1.75 (Res) We usually play with the portable laserdesignator. pang 0 Posted June 21, 2003 chomps, i was asking this too. i guess its a plain config bug with the "laserdesignatoroh" weaponclass, which both the BIS- and BAS kiowa use. but however you can assign the "laserdesignatoroh" weapon and magazine to every other chopper and it´ll work in an mp game. (actually pretty funny... every chopper can paint targets except the one which should be supposed to ) maybe you guys want to add the ability to paint targets to the apache or an ah6: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">this addmagazine "laserdesignatoroh"; this addweapon "laserdesignattoroh" this works in mp games, but the turning radius is depending on the helo´s original gun. i´m hoping for a bugfix there too. maybe in v1.95 (haha) or with the superconfig -greetings Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Both the BAS and BIS Kiowa helicopter laser designators do not work. There may have been some kind of error factor I am overlooking, but like I said, it was a simple test. Thats our experience to after quite a few tries and I don't think your overclocking matters at all if everything else runs OK. Concluding from our own previous tests and the tests reported here by you and pang I would say that the Kiowa LD is broken in multiplayer when sitting two humans (i.e pilot and gunner) in the same Kiowa.
