Beaircraft performance?

Recommended Posts

Hey smile_o.gif I was just wondering if there is anything else in flashpoint that affects a particular aircraft's performance besides the cpp things of maxSpeed, brakeDistance, aileronSensitivity, elevatorSensitivity and noseDownCoef? Me and Nolips are making a new aircraft and I got the cpp handling characteristics off the Buccaneer, just so we could test the plane, however, ingame the plane flys differently to the buccaneer- it makes tighter turns but seems to have little acceleration or power in general- once you've made a tight turn and you're down to 200mph, its very hard to get back up to speed- this is completely different from the Buccaneer crazy_o.gif Does the shape of the aircraft's model affect its performance ingame?

EDIT-sorry about the topic title- i dont know how that happened (I sure as hell wouldnt like to meet a Bearcraft), sorry

I figure its like what NAA said, the centre of gravity AND the MASS in geolod. The more mass u put on, the more likely your plane will sink and lose speed during turns. ( this u wont find in the cpp.)

Watch out the geo lod cos thats what's gonna affect the performance in most vehicle class. I dont mean the shape as in aerodynamics but what kind of shape of vehicle u will end up with, eg, hovering vehicles must look like helicopter for heli class ( shape in the geolod only) and plane must have the plane look - long body, wings, ailerons, etc.

Acceleration =

a Maxspeed of craft.

b.Ingame - keys W and E

Check your GeoLOD for any obstructions, espacially if u have ailerons and rudders, ensure they are place correctly otherwise in game, your rudder could be activated without u knowing it and ofp assumes u want to lower your speed.

BTW, there is a minimum speed ( default). Its est. 30% of your maxspeed. If your craft drops below the min.speed, u will lose all upward mobility and sink. There is no known way yet to configure the minspeed except to adjust the maxspeed to your mission requirement.
