-iCeMaN- 0 Posted April 21, 2003 It's like in BHD, where the guy gets shot in the leg and the bullet hits his femoral artery and he starts bleeding like crazy and the artery starts to retract to his pelvis and the medic tries to reach in and pull it back up and clamp it but then he slips being the butter fingered dumbass he his and the wounded guy wakes up after being knocked out from the pain 'cause they couldn't give him morphine 'cause it would kill him, and then he asks the medic if everything went OK and the guy says it did even though it didn't then the wounded guy dies lol -iCe-

We'll think about it Also, do you know CAT_SHIT's e-mail address? we could use his help we can't do the 1-shot-in-the-leg-till-combat-ineffectiveness thing however, cause it won't be fun.... when the enemy starts shootin at you, you'll see what i mean. Wick_105 0 Posted April 24, 2003 allright have any of you actually fired a weapon on the range...it does sound a bit like that... and if you fire a rifle in real life depending on where you are you will hear an echo yes they do look a bit fat ... yes they are in there NBC suits so that covers that...but yes they are still are a bit to fat...weapon sights are a bit crappy...but as you said its supposed to be...the m249 is a bit to big...but as befor its ok...I like these guys, really good work...but as I'm sure you've heard befor the armour level is still yay out of wack...current body armour is able to take many rounds in the chest plate but it was only tested with 5.56mm from 100m not 7.62 which is a big down fall with all things made in america and if you havent guessed I'm really drunk...but thats a problem for the M.P.'s not you guys
miles teg 1 Posted April 24, 2003 The armor levels on the latest version of this addon I think are fine. Still a little stronger then the BAS soldiers, but still acceptable as the enemy AI still has a fighting chance. Mission makers can just double up the enemy squads. As for the body armor, the interceptor vests have reportedly saved quite a few lives in Iraq by stopping rifle rounds. It only stops rounds to the area protected by the ceramic panel inserts, but the rest of the vest also does an excellent job of stopping shrapnel from enemy artillery, grenade, and RPG fire. The weapon sites on the other hand I don't like on the M16's. These looked like they are ripped off from "America's Army" or whatever that U.S. Army game is called. I've fired the M16A2 many times and the site picture you see does not look like that. Normally my nose is right on the charging handle and I don't see the rear sight adjustment and all that... or at least I don't notice it. At the very least they should open up the black areas to the left and right of the peep hole so that at least you can see through that area because as it is the whole rifle blocks most of your view and it's difficult to get the sites on a target. Once you get the sites on the target, you also can't see who's firing at you to the left and right of your target in regards to this addon. In real life, you just open the other eye or look up a little bit over your sites. This can't be simulated in OFP, but they can at least open up some of the areas covered up by the sites in this addon. Personally I thought that the BIS sites were just fine. At any rate, it doesn't really matter because these modern soldiers should be equipped with M4's anyways, except for the Marines which in large part still use the M16A2. In this addon the Army soldiers I generally equip with the BAS M4's. The SAW sites however I really like on this addon. They are perhaps some of the most realistic ones I've seen so far. But as someone else said it is a little too big. I used to be a SAW gunner and I really liked how small and lightweight it was. I mean it's not tiny, but it's not nearly as big as the M60 or M240. Everything else is cool though, except that I hope to see some larger AT weapons like the SMAW AT rocket and a Dragon or Javelin guided AT missile similar to the Eryx AT guided missile used in the Operation Frenchpoint addon. Their Eryx AT missile VERY realistically simulates a typical wire guided missile system. Finally the sounds.... Actually I think the sounds are both realistic and not realistic. To me they sound like distant gunshots. While firing, an M16A2 does NOT sound like that even while wearing earplugs. It has a very sharp crisp sound. The sounds in this addon sound more like what you hear on CNN watching soldiers firing their weapons or what you hear from these weapons when they are being fired at a distance from your position. A lot of people like the weapon sounds in this addon however exactly because it sounds like what they hear on TV. So it's not all bad. I mainly wish the sounds could be LOUDER (Because firing these weapons is REALLY REALLY loud) and perhaps a little bit more crisper with the treble (high) frequencies boosted a little bit. I have a lot of audio editing software with good EQ plugins and very good brickwall limiting that I could use to really pump up the audio levels of the samples. So if anyone from the CODE BLUE team wants to email me the sounds in .wav or mp3 format, I'd be happy to try and make them more realistic sounding. Anyhoo overall I think this addon rocks and no I don't think these soldiers look too fat. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
dave8 0 Posted April 24, 2003 Wick_105 Miles Teg Good comments... However... Our weapons sites were NOT  ripped out of America's army. I made them myself with the help of the M16 operating manual the army uses. Take some screenshots of the M16 sights AA uses, and take some screenshots of the M16 sights we use... completely different...  The 3rd ID uses the M16... I have various pics showing them using that gun... The 101st will be using the m4 though (in our MOD)... Things i will fix: M249 size and sounds... Not Troop models though... lol, jeez, before people were complaining how small the damn thing is... Now it's too big lol.... M249 size will change... thanks for the info Sounds... Only Jimbo knows how good it's progressing so far  Feel free to add more comments... these have been very useful so far... Wick, have you downloaded our updated version? it fixes the armor problems... Also, i'm sure the body armor's good against 7.62 rounds since Ak47's use them. Taliban and Iraqi forces use Ak47s, and people reported the armor saving their lives a couple of times from Taliban fire and Iraqi fire Also, my friend in the Army tried shooting the crematic plates himself... It craked at 8 shots, but never broke after even more shots (20+)

PFC_Mike 2 Posted April 25, 2003 I thought Code Blue was about Operation Enduring Freedom? Oh well there's hardly any difference between 101st AB, 10th mountain, etc. from Afghanistan to Iraq except the MOPP stuff. And they're killing Iraqi soldiers and civillians instead of Taliban soldiers and Afghan civillians. ETA on an update, esp textures?
Guest Posted April 25, 2003 Lol....it's a bit rediculous guys. Why not work together? In fact, why not try and establish some links between all the 1992 and 2003 Gulf War mods? I know we (at OPGWC) would be more than willing to share some things (working addons, techniques, insight etc), if other Gulf War mods would be willing to do the same. It seems like a waste of time to have 4 or 5 mods all making the same vehicles

mrukas 0 Posted April 25, 2003 you start as the Iraqi peasant who pretended to shoot down apache helicopter, saddam hears about it and promotes you to iraqi info ministers nr2... this the iraqi info minister does not like, so he tries to kill you and you have to run from his stories . to be serious now... it sounds like a good idea that all three mods join together. Â dont know what you other modguys think </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">You guys are also doing an Operation Iraqi freedom MOD? damn i thought Jimbo and I were the only ones.... lol good luck to the both of us <span id='postcolor'> nope, we are doing a project iraqi freedom mod
dave8 0 Posted April 26, 2003 hmmm.... we could do both: Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.... Teaming up.... That'll be a challange. A bigger team would be harder to control, and people will disagree with each other.... how bout this: each MOD decides on what vehicles and units to Use and Make with the other MODs. If they decide not to use that certain Unit/Vehicle made by another MOD, they can use their own, or ,whatever they want.... By assigning what vehicles and units to Use and Make, less time is needed to complete the MODs, and more time is added to making a campaign. If one MOD believes another MOD's unit is not up to par, they can feel free to use their own Also, people have different views on the War, and how to make the campaign, so teaming up 100% completely wouldn't be the best idea. Agree or disagree? Also, We'll try to make some connections with 1992 and 2003.... i.e. Abrams and Bradleys in the past look the almost the same to right now, but some things are different
Guest Posted April 26, 2003 Absolutely....the whole idea isn't necessarily to become one mod.....but talk to each other so you aren't doubling up on stuff you don't have to. If you are going to make a mod, then it takes a loooooong time (OPGWC are one year into it, and still a long way to go....and we are working hard), so anything that can save you time is a good thing. Yes, you will have disagreements...that's human nature. The thing is just to say, we agree to disagree, and get on with helping each on the stuff you do agree about Good luck guys.....and as always we at OPGWC will help out if we can
dave8 0 Posted April 26, 2003 Ok, i'll e-mail every MOD associated/about the same with Operation Enduring freedom (that means Islands, taliban models, etc...etc...), and Operation Iraqi Freedom (that includes every thing related to desert models, Operation Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom)... someone please list all the sites for the MODs i'm describing...
