Epita 0 Posted April 17, 2003 I use Light Wave for all of my modeling needs. Is there anyway to get native support for .lwo files for O2 or will i need to go via Max or another file type. Any comments welcome Epita
Herge 0 Posted April 18, 2003 Milkshape3D at www.milkshape3d.com will import/export from both .lwo and .obj A convertor p3d2obj will get data out of Oxygen
cbfasi 4 Posted April 20, 2003 I use Lightwave for all my modelling, and have to convert to 3ds using other software then import into O2. A word of caution though, my experiance shows that the conversion process seems to double the Lightwave poly count
Epita 0 Posted April 20, 2003 Thanks for that. Doubling the poly count, its probably making all ur pollys double sided. Epita
horrido 0 Posted May 1, 2003 More likely, your quad polys are being triangulated. -Horrido
cbfasi 4 Posted May 1, 2003 I am pretty sure its the quad to triangles thats doubles it
DPS -CCCP- 0 Posted May 11, 2003 Use the Deep Exploration program (http://www.righthemisphere.com). S/N can be found on astalavista. It look like ACDSee, but for different 3d formats. Perfect exporting tool. While exporting, some polygons may be trippeled (probably non-planar). And one important note: don't convert any *.LWO model in to one other, if it has polygons with more than 4 verticles! It can make serious texture position problem.
