How to change the "iron sights" picture?

Excuse me if I'm ignant, but I actually own an AKM and I would like to make the AK-74 in OFP more like what it actually looks like when you put it up to your eye. How do I go about doing that? I only want to change the "iron sights" viewpoint when you hit the optics button.

You would have to extract the AK's model from OFP's files and incorporate your own ironsite design.

Then you could choose to either modify your OFP install by replacing the game's AK model with yours (not recommended) or by simply creating a new AK model addon.

Assuming the latter, you'll need to explicitely reference it in mission files if you want to make use of it.

Before you go off and try to do this, be aware that there are numerous user made AK models already out there and one might already have the ironsite you want.

Gotta pic of what you're thinking of? Maybe someone will recognize an existing AK model that is the same or similar.

That looks a lot like the AK47 sight from America's Army. Hopefully you complete a working sight.

I've been talking with Granitsky, and since I was planning to do an AK sight anyway, I gave it a shot tonight with the help of his image. You'll notice I brought it up a lot closer than the photo, but I think it looks good. I don't think I could have done a good job if i tried to show the full photo view.

I forgot to say that the above image is just a photoshop set of layers - not ingame because I didn't have time (busy modeling a cobra reflex sight for my AS Val).

The actual in-game version will be very similar, just a little more grainy.
