Set scale issues

Recommended Posts

Returning to the editor i noticed in the object attributes box, "scale" was a new option. i messed with it,i set a  military wall, from altis to a scale of 6. Using it as a traders compound.

However i noticed,as iv been loading this map and working on a scenario for a week now, that with this particular change, when returning to the editor from previewing the mission, the transition/loading bar took way way longer, and infact completely froze arma on 3 occasions(my game never froze for any reason in over 5000 hours of playtime).

So i reverted the scale to 0 (as well as first testing many other things one by one before that) and found that by removing the scale setting that i had a 6,to just its default size,i would be able to return to editor, open virtual arsenal etc without loading delays or freezing.

It seems this scale command is either by itself or in conjunction with something else causing the game to not load easily.

Any thoughts on whats going on? Scale is pretty cool feature added,id like to make use of it without my game crashing.

That is not an official Editor feature. Even though there is setObjectScale that is added months/year ago, but it is definitely not perfect and will not work in some situations, as the BIKI article suggests.

Thank you for clearing that up. i assume its got to be Eden enhanced. I just think of it as vanilla these days that i hadnt considered it wasnt a vanilla feature of the editor.

I feel better about it now,il avoid using setscale. Cheers mate
