PHY_Hawkeye 0 Posted March 4, 2003 I had heard that too, (on this forum as it happens) but according to the caption on this photo these guys are Force Recon. If you look at the guy in front, you can make out what looks like a scope on his weapon. Of course, the caption could have been wrong

Warin 0 Posted March 4, 2003 Die Alive, Many of the forum goers speak english as a second language. As such, it is very poor form to give someone a hard time about their language skills. Please refrain from doing this in the future.

Mister Frag 0 Posted March 5, 2003 I agree that it looks like a Trijicon Reflex sight, in which case it is a red-dot sight without any magnification (or battery-powered light source, for that matter). Not quite iron sights, but no magnification either.

stgn 39 Posted March 6, 2003 </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">The Marine Corps does not issue a back up iron sight with their SOPMOD kit (though USSOCOM does). Instead, they rely on the issue removable carry handle. This is flawed thinking. If an optic goes down, the need to maintain continuity of fire still exists. To physically remove the optic, fish through your deuce gear to locate the carry handle, then attach this to the receiver—and do it while attempting to break contact and such, is patently absurd.<span id='postcolor'> I think like this I have misunderstud.
