Major Fubar 0 Posted March 1, 2003 I'm having some probs with my IE6 and was wondering if anyone might know a quick fix? When I am browsing pages with jpeg or gif pictures, I used to be bale to save them in the same format. Now I can only save them as bitmaps. I tried applying the latest service pack, but it didn't work. Is there anything I can do short of a total reinstall? And would a reinstall do stuff like make me lose my "auto complete" passwords and such? thanks - Fubar
Col. Kurtz 0 Posted March 1, 2003 Have you got the IE6 Service Pack 1?
Major Fubar 0 Posted March 1, 2003 Yes, but for some reason it won't install. I think maybe the copy of IE6 I've got installed at the moment might be corrupt.
der bastler 0 Posted March 1, 2003 Solution: Try Opera 6.05 (Ver. 7 not "ready" yet) or Mozilla.
Itchy 0 Posted March 1, 2003 There is a dropdown box at the bottom of the save dialog...you have a choice between .bmp and whatever the image already is. Though I'd go with Phoenix as a browser (link on the Mozilla front page)

OK, thanks anyway everyone, looks like it is time for a reinstall (I wont be switching to another browser).
