kibaBG 53 Posted January 19, 2023 Hi, I am using OBS to record some missions but the image of recorded videos is like its having a dark layer on top of it. I already tried the most tips from YT, I turned off HDR (at least it say its turned off, maybe there are other ways to turn it off?) and I turned off all post process options from Arma 3 Options. I am a noob in video recording and have no clue what is wrong ...
kibaBG 53 Posted January 19, 2023 Here some tech info about how I am recording: ------------------------------------- Encoder settings Rate Control: CBR Bitrate: 20000 Kbps Keyframe interval: 2s Preset: P5: Slow Good Quality Tuning: High Quality Multipass mode: Two Passes (Quarter Resolution) Profile: high Look Ahead: ON Psycho Visual Tuning: ON GPU: 0 Max B Frames: 2 ----------------------------------------- This is what my friend recommended, he has more knowledge about video recordings. Quick test with other game (Valheim) showed not problem with brightness. The culprit is Arma 3 ... 😪
Gunter Severloh 4063 Posted January 19, 2023 Hi, You can setup a filter for OBS and set the lighting, quality ect,. there via a filter. Do this: Startup OBS go to scenes and then sources (bottom left ) and then click on the scene you setup for capturing the game, then click on filters above that. Create a effects filter and setup a color corrections filter and then adjust your sliders accordingly. What are your computer specs btw? Bitrate: 20000 Kbps is a bit low for quality, mine is at 60,000 are you using the NVIDIA NVENC H.264 encoder?
kibaBG 53 Posted January 20, 2023 Quote are you using the NVIDIA NVENC H.264 encoder? Yes. I am trying the Filters options. Will report back. I see you use Game Capture, not the whole screen. UPDATE I solved my issue, just used Game Capture as Source, without any filters. Thanks @Gunter Severloh

Yup, once ingame that little window in OBS will be the whole game as you know, you can also setup a source too for desktop to record whatever there. Glad you got it figured out! Cheers!
