KaRRiLLioN 0 Posted February 25, 2003 I've been searching for the answer to this here and at OFPEC but I haven't been able to find an answer. I've been messing around, learning how to do config.cpp's and have come across a problem. For some reason the Turret optics for the gunner view on a tank will not elevate when I elevate the barrel. If I rotate the turret, then they rotate with it, but when I aim the barrel up and down they don't move up or down at all. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks! KaRRiLLioN 0 Posted February 26, 2003 I've tried using a different p3d file for the optic, but that doesn't seem to be an issue. I also tried adding class ViewGunnerBase  info to it, but that doesn't do anything. Just to clarify the issue, when you get into a tank or something and then you aim the turret up and down, your optics view follows the end of the barrel.  In this case, the barrel is moving up and down, but the gunner's view does not shift up and down with it. Might there be something that needs to be done from within Oxygen to make this happen?
Guest BratZ Posted February 26, 2003 I've had this happen ,playing with my turrets. Usually because of the gun names selections. If your gunner proxy isnt rotating with it,you will only have up/down.
KaRRiLLioN 0 Posted February 26, 2003 Actually what I have is the opposite. The gunner view rotates with the turret, but it doesn't go up/down. I've been digging for some tutorials at OFPEC that might shed some light on this, but I didn't see anything relating to proxies. Can you elaborate on what you mean? I'm not sure I follow exactly what you meant by gun names selections. Thanks!
Guest BratZ Posted February 26, 2003 I'll bet in Memory lod you don't have a gunnerview vertex grouped. I will describe how I use a machine gun as a turret: Has no base,so you may need to figure some of that out... I just have a model of a machine gun and a gunner proxy View LODS: Zbran = just the gun model Otochlaven =the gun model and flash OtocVez = the gun model and flash pyssy & tangot =the gun model and flash zasleh = just the flash Memory LOD: gunnerview  1 vertex konec hlavne 1 vertex usti hlavne 1 vertex kulomet 1 vertex nabojniceend 1 vertex nabojnicestart 1 vertex osahlavne 2 vertex (gun up/gown elevation) osaveze 2 vertex (gun left/right) zbran 1 vertex Now I have grouped as selections: Zbran - just the nabojniceend ,nabojnicestart but now I look ,this prolly should be all points grouped or all the gun points anyways Otochlaven - nabojniceend, nabojnicestart, usti and konec hlavne, gunnerview(I think this is your problem?) Otocvez -  same as above but also osaveze I think the last two selections may be your problem, some may not be needed (kulomet) but I have a working turret Oh, and my gunner doesn't rotate with the turret,I made this for a airplane tailgunner
philcommando 0 Posted February 27, 2003 try double checking the otocs memory points as it is quite easy to group them all as one or spell it wrongly. Secondly try checking your turret class config for the min and max elevations if the positive and negative signs are correct. It should work if u followed brsseb's excellent tutorial, but heck, we are only human and do make errors
