Bartlett 0 Posted February 17, 2003 I've had this problem since I bought Resistance, but I always used to be able to get round it and start up the game and play it with no problems, but now the game won't start at all. Basically, when I start Resistance, anyway, i.e. shortcut, autorun once inserted disc, through start menu, the game starts normally, but then when it gets to the screen saying Bohemia Interactive Studios with the logo, the game quickly crashes to the desktop where everything is normal. This happens all the time, and I can not get around it and I can not find a solution. I am running version 1.75 of the game (I think, it's Resistance unpatched anyway), and I have tried playing it with no addons except the ones included in game and it still does not work. Operation Flashpoint runs more or less fine. I am running the game on an Intel Pentium III 700MHz processor with 256MB RAM and GeForce 2 MX 32MB graphics card. I am running the game with Direct 3D HW T & L (??? whatever it's called, can't remember, you know what I mean though I hope). My settings are 800 x 600 x 32 and advanced settings are on medium mostly. Please help, it's been annoying me for ages and I really want to get it sorted. theavonlady 2 Posted February 17, 2003 Search The FAQ for "logo display" and see if one of the first two matching items helps you out.
Bartlett 0 Posted February 18, 2003 thanks for help. I have Direct X 8.1 but I'm not sure whether I have my latest graphics card things, but I'm sure it can't be anything to do with that because I've never changed my graphics card and the game used to work with my current graphics card settings
Mister Frag 0 Posted February 18, 2003 With 256MB of RAM, it could be a lack of memory, especially if you've added any new Addons recently, or if you installed new software such as an anti-virus program, instant messenger, or anything else that constantly runs in the background. Denwad 0 Posted March 5, 2003 I've a similar problem, but I get an error that says "wrong serial number entered at setup". I emailed CM but all they said was that it isn't the CD key and they don't know what is causing it.

MesserJockel 0 Posted March 6, 2003 i came up with exactly the same problem. GOTY edition, installed it, worked fine except for some texture problems and some crashes. took a look into the FAQ, decided to upgrade my machine to new kyro drivers , i think like 16.0xx. it doesnt matter, what i do now, i am not able to start the game... it changes resolution, screen goes black, and in an instant i am on my desktop again. i tried to find the described driver 7.xx from ofp faq for my kyroII 4500, but couldnt find it anywhere. its really annoying, because in the beginning, it worked... damn =) any suggestions? would be great regards, alex
Denwad 0 Posted March 6, 2003 No, I do not have Win XP. Also, when I try to install patches it says my installation is corrupt. BTW, I'm not using warez or cracked anything.

Placebo 29 Posted March 7, 2003 Yeah I had a Herc 4500 as well and I was really happy when I finally ditched it, was nice to give the under dog a chance but the level of support both driver wise and game wise was just really lacking, I picked up a Radeon 7500 pretty cheap a while back and I've been very happy with it, gonna be upgrading to either a higher end Radeon or GF4 soon
