blackdog~ 0 Posted February 11, 2003 I have a linksys router, and apparently the control panels are pretty much universal. Could someone tell me how to configure it to let me host MP games on port 2302?
Mister Frag 0 Posted February 11, 2003 Here is a list of the ports and protocols that I forward to the system acting as a server behind my router/firewall: TCP 47624 UDP 47624 TCP 6073 UDP 6073 TCP 2234 UDP 2234 TCP 2300-2400 UDP 2300-2400 I think this is overkill and that you don't need to open both UDP and TCP for some ports, but if you configure your network to open these ports and forward them to the system that you want to use to host, this will do the trick. Lt_Dan_Sweden 0 Posted February 16, 2003 You dont need thet one hundred ports at 2300-2400. That was in the old Directplay. Using Sockets, you only need standard port - standard plus one, for example 2302-2303. We run a dedic that handles more than 30 people, lag free on that. Mister Frag 0 Posted February 17, 2003 FWIW, I use DirectPlay, so I need the 2300-2400 ports open. We stuck with it because of the voice support that is part of DirectPlay.
