brsseb 0 Posted February 7, 2003 Hi I have resently moved away from o2 and started modelling all my new projects in Maya 4. When its modelled i export (using OBJ format, import to Anim8tor and enable KS Data, export to 3ds) and import it in o2. I have now learned to get models from o2 and to maya, and back again with no problems..almost: I also want to do texturing in Maya before exporting, so that the model only needs LOD setup. I hate texturing in o2. Its so much easier in Maya. Problem is, i dont know how to get the textures safely trough the process. So.. When i export a textured model, i get a single OBJ file of the model. Where are the textures then? are they within the OBJ file?? brsseb
HiJacker 0 Posted June 12, 2003 No but you do need to make a UV map for the model
PSC 0 Posted June 13, 2003 Yeah, I do it the same way. I know Anim8tor is a free tool, I'd recommend to use a differet tool to convert your models to 3DS though. I had trouble with cilyndrical texture projections and Anim8tor sometimes. PSC
