Rob 1 Posted November 17, 2001 i dont know how but i wud really like to know considering those r the files the used to make the game with. once u have found out if there is a way. TELL ME!!!!!
Dawdler 0 Posted November 17, 2001 Why are the files lousy? Anyway, you should have wavs also. Ive already taken up this in another old post but got no response... My question was why use .ogg, .wss, .wav when most other games only have one sound format... PS: Read the tutorial!
Wile E Coyote 0 Posted November 19, 2001 man this is really depressing. Something so simple and yet NOBODY seems to know how to do it andbohemia interactive won't answer e-mails either.
K6 0 Posted November 19, 2001 http://www.speech.kth.se/wavesurfer/ Try this little n` easy program it works fine with me converting sound files from one to another format. There are also format plugins available to update the shareware with other formats...... Btw....If that doesn`t work...which was a problem I had with converting a .raw (Real Player) to ogg file than put your microphone near your box, play the wss file (If you can) and record it. Then you have a common soundfile ...wav or whatever and this can be converted with the wavesurfer...Worked good with my file. EartHQuakE 0 Posted November 19, 2001 no reference to wss-files ? try the search-feature buddy ;) just look at this tool. its an codec for wss files (convert wss<->wav). http://www.k-foren.de/attachm....=193534 sometimes you have to rename the file (attachment.php -> wss.zip), but that should be no problem. i may upload this tool as soon as i can ... dont have the time now. Wile E Coyote 0 Posted November 19, 2001 I really appreciate it EartHQuakE, and thank you. However, just how are they supposed to work? And what are the codecs for (ie, Windows Media Player, Quicktime, etc.) All that is in the zip file are 2 exe's with no explanation on how to use them
Wile E Coyote 0 Posted November 19, 2001 I GOT IT! I GOT IT! Â Â Â THANK YOU EARTHQUAKE!!!!!!! The problem was that it is a dos program and it ran so fast I couldn't read the simple instructions. So here is a detailed instruction for everyone running Windows95 or higher: 0) Â Get the decoder from earthquake's link 1) Â Unpack the WSS files you want from the PBO 2) Â put wssdec.exe in the same folder as the WSS files 3) Â Open up your MSDOS prompt 4) Â in DOS, go to the folder and type this: example: WSSDEC [WSS File name goes here] it only does one file at a time but it works THANK YOU EARTHQUAKE
