KDog35 0 Posted February 5, 2003 Hi, I read most of the threads concerning Hardware acceleration and the EAX options. I'm having trouble getting EAX to work and not having the screen jump. It also seems that EAX doens't work without the HA enabled also....I can't seem to hear the difference with HA "off" and EAX "on". I went under Control Panel/Audio Devices/Advanced/Performance tab and lowered the acceleration, but when go back into OFP the EAX won't enable (it's back to disable). My specs are: ME, SB Live Value, 32mb Geforce2 card, 512 ram, 1.1 processor. lol - I just discovered this EAX option today and I've owned OFP for a year now! What a difference this makes in finding enemy! I MUST solve this problem so I can be a better gamer online. thanks for any help. Kdog-
Mister Frag 0 Posted February 5, 2003 EAX won't work without full hardware acceleration in the Windows Control Panel, and enabling OFP's own EAX setting won't work if the driver doesn't permit it. EAX does require some CPU processing power, so it could definitely reduce the game's responsiveness. One thing you can try is making sure that the sound card is not in the PCI slot right next to your video card, because on many systems the AGP slot and the PCI slot next to it share interrupts.
