ReEee1234567889 1 Posted January 1, 2021 For the devs: Will the current matchmaking system be addressed at any time? It's terribly flawed. Every match is one or two low level players with no equipment vs. eight or ten level 50's with gold AUR's every time. This game won't succeed into the future if every new player quits because they can't get any loot. I understand that at any given point there aren't a lot of people playing so the player pool is horribly inbred, but new players have no chance at all to gain loot, let alone find any weapon plans or decent gear, so they aren't going to stick around and spend money. I know the limited-pool players will say "well its an apocalypse survival game, so blah-blah-blah self-justify being a douche to new players" but it's a GAME, and games are only played when players enjoy them, and games only succeed (i.e. the devs stay in business) when new players buy them. If a restaurant advertises fantastic meals but the cook only serves dogshit on a piece of bread, no one eats there except people who enjoy dogshit on bread. Vigor is currently dishing out A LOT of dogshit on bread when it could be the best restaurant anyone's ever been to. I know five people who tried the game and quit within 2 days, each citing the poor matchmaking as the reason they moved on to other games that aim to be fair and balanced. How about a tier system based on kill rate instead? I understand this will really upset all the PayToWin players but this game could easily rival Fortnite in popularity if it were actually fun to play. Just a thought for the new year. Hope its better than 2020...
Matthew Aiken 132 Posted January 2, 2021 The short answer is no sadly. There are modes like shootout and elimination where players get even chances to succeed where you either go in with the same weapons or basic weapons and find better ones later. As for encounters it’s a free for all mode, learn to adapt and survive if your charging immediately towards major points of interest from the start of a match and get merc’ed by someone it’s kinda your own fault. If your a new player you need to learn the maps first, know where to go to find things boosted game or not. Push for objectives only if it’s safe to do so. I could go on and give a comprehensive guide but bottom line is even a new player can get along fine by keeping their heads on a swivel and assessing a situation before acting. c00ster 30 Posted January 3, 2021 If this is a game about a post-apocalyptic world, I don't think 'matchmaking' serves the principle very well. There are plenty of games where the fantasy notion that 'life is fair' exists, but it is absurd to think that the world wouldn't totally be 'dog-eat-dog' in said setting. Everyone starts out as a beginner and I remember how frustrating it was in the beginning for me too, but eventually everyone gets the hang of it and there comes a point where "the masters'' of the game are no longer so intimidating. Everyone loses in this game and that is what makes them better.
