Can you save while playing scenario, and have that update Eden editor?

I have been looking for an answer on this question for a while now: 

 

Is there a way to make it so that when you save in game (while playing the scenario you made in eden editor) it updates the editor so that when you come back, the things that you did in scenario happen when you return to the editor? (your played has moved, enemies have died or dissapeared if you killed them, etc.)

 

I have tried mods such as MCC and Alive to use their persistance functions, but alive says it is not available, and MCC is just not working. Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

No. The editor has all the units as they are at the start of the mission.

There is no way to play the mission for a bit and open that progress in the editor.
