debug console breaks systemchat?

I rarely use systemchat as a debug tool, for my own reasons, probably not very good ones, I prefer to look at another screen tailing the rpt.

 

But at the moment, I am using systemchat. It writes a formatted line to the screen once a second so I can keep an eye on some variables.

 

When I press escape to get the debug menu up, or perhaps take the mouse to another monitor, the systemchat stops. I know it's still working because I echo the same data to the rpt which I can see live, but the systemchat doesn't come back to screen when I close the debug menu.

Am I doing something, other than pressing escape, wrong?

Wow! You figured out the same issue I was having, I never put much thought into it...a very frustrating thing at times.

 

To fix this in testing you can have a spooky loop of 

showchat true;

 

and that will resolve your issue while you are debugging 🙂
