avibird 1 36 Posted April 19, 2018 I know a few people posted about this issue. When using the in-game module to set up a briefing while using modified units. I am currently using CUP units and maps I get double entries in the mission Mission briefings with two dates and time and text. Was this confirmed to be a bug or issues with using it with mods or is there a fix around this. Avibird
avibird 1 36 Posted April 20, 2018 after using the briefing modules with vanilla game it's definitely a bug with using modified units and Maps that sucks ass. I guess I need to do the Mission briefing tasks and debriefings the old fashion way. Unless somebody knows a way around this but I can't really find a lot of information about this bug using modified units and the new modules.
HazJ 1289 Posted April 20, 2018 What you mean by double dates? Can you provide demo mission / screenshot please. I don't use modules. (:
avibird 1 36 Posted April 20, 2018 What ever you put down is there twice so the mission date time and mission information you put down ie Intel is twice so for example Dec 6 1984 0600hrs rainy ect Situation you are in a POW camp ect Dec 6 1984 0600hrs rainy ect Situation you are in a POW camp ect This does not happen with vanilla units on a Arma3 map. I was using cup units on Everon. I read a few post about this but not a lot of information on such a huge bug with some of the best new modules Bohemia has put out with the Eden editor. I guess most players are still using the old fashion way of sqf for briefings debrief and tasks .
HazJ 1289 Posted April 20, 2018 @avibird 1 - Just tested, placed diary record module (only briefing one I see) but I don't get this issue with double dates. Can you provide some more information / maybe example mission? EDIT: Tested using vanilla units on VR. Tested with CUP units on Chernarus.
avibird 1 36 Posted April 20, 2018 Really you used cup units! The only mods I am running in this mission is Cup units weapons vehicles Cup Terrain maps CBA and MCC I tested it with vanilla units on vanilla maps and I don't get the double entries. that is weird that you did it with cup units and maps and you're not getting it? HazJ 1289 Posted April 20, 2018 I believe so, unless I am looking at something else? Open map -> Briefing -> etc... I see only one date. What module settings have you set?
avibird 1 36 Posted April 20, 2018 Issue resolved. This is a coop mission but there are 3 playable units on OPFOR that will switch side to Blufor to help with the Prison Break. I had the diary module set to playable units that is why I was getting double entries. I need to use only side of synunits and place a second diary module for my three playable opfor units but when the units make the switch there is no diary record available for them. I think this is a bug or oversight on Bohemian with the modules. I still don't know what's the best way the old-fashioned way or using the modules. Does using the modules give better game performance I'm still a little confused with the whole there's multiple ways of doing things now either through the eating editor or SQF. files. HazJ 1289 Posted April 21, 2018 Glad you got it working. You could make them Independent and set Independent to side with BLUFOR (which is default I think) or even both sides. Then make the join BLUFOR side later on in mission.
avibird 1 36 Posted April 21, 2018 That would not work all the prison gates are locked and will only open for opfor units. The three make the switch once they're in the prison camp at the prisoner barracks. The switch is made by radio trigger only by the pow Commander or area trigger.
