Aculaud 0 Posted November 27, 2001 Iv been through lots of this before, and i need help again, just not getting anywhere. I really love playing as a black op, but i like the uniforms the Spetz Natzs have better. any way to play as an american black op with the spetz natz uniform? Next, i need to kow how to activate a trigger by identifying an enemy unit. its something like  Unit A knowsabout Unit B, or something, but i forget the details, and i'v tried experimenting, but to no avail. Next, i need to know how to use a trigger to send units from one location to another when that trigger is activated. And finally, someone tell me how the #### i'm supposed to make an HTML briefing. its really not as simple as you people make it out to be, iv tried everything people have suggested, and nothing works. the closest iv gotten is to use the mission editing assistant, or the mission and briefing editor, and those seem to have this quirk where they dont sepertate the notes from the briefing itself. vitoal125 0 Posted November 27, 2001 the knowsabout command returns a value I think from 1 to 4 with 4 being they are looking right at him and completely know about him. If you want the trigger to go off, just do something like this in the condition of the trigger a knowsabout b > 3 where 3 is the number u want. to make them move, just put in the on activation field a domove position. For the briefing, I just dl'ed the one they have on this site in the editing section and used notepad to put in the info that I needed right where they said it needs to go. vitoal125 0 Posted November 27, 2001 yeah, it worked just fine. Now this is probably something stupid and you probably already know this, but make absolutely sure you are saving it in the correct mission folder and make sure you use the saveas feature and make the file name briefing.html if you do not put in the html, it will be saved as a txt file instead and will not work. Aculaud 0 Posted November 29, 2001 i have tried there. its got a great amount of good general knowledge, but i was hoping for someone who knows something specific about what i need. Ok, nevermind the spetz natz uniform, and i got the knowsabout command done. what i need now is: -how to make an overview only. just the front page of the mission. the one before you get to the briefing. -next, i need to know how to make an AI player follow its waypoints upon activation of a trigger. i'v tried synching the WP with a trigger, and that didnt work. Space Cadet 1 Posted November 29, 2001 You tried synchronising and it didn't work??, are you sure you did it correctly?? Try this:- Create a group of blokes, give them two waypoints. Create a trigger that will fire when you want (east not present or something, you might want to setup some kind of text or sound effect on the trigger so you can see that it is firing correctly - use the effects button) then synchronise this trigger with the first waypoint for the blokes. (you will see a dark blue line appear if you do this right). Now, when you start the mission, the blokes will move to the first waypoint and wait there until the trigger fires, then they will move to the second waypoint. I was trying to use a helicopter to follow the waypoint i had synched to the trigger, but it kept going before i told it to. heres what i did. the trigger was activated by radioing alpha. so before i radioed it, i had it set as having no fuel. then with the trigger, i put the setfuel 1 command in the "on activation" feild, and it did everything the way i wanted it to.
