Can't play sounds?

Recommended Posts

I went into my OFP Preferences, went to voice setup. But I cant set it up!

It says it's testing the hardware. Then it stops and says "Your hardware cannot play sounds" "Contact your vendor for more information".

I've never had this problem before.

System is

Pentium IV

512 RAM

Geforce 2 MX/MX

Like any of that matters when dealing with sound, but you guys always ask for it.

Temporarily reduce the level of hardware acceleration for your sound card to one level below maximum, run the voice setup, then restore the acceleration level.

Start -> Setting -> Ctrl panel -> Sounds and Audio -> Speakers settings -> Advanced -> Notch it down to 3 instead of 4

If you have 95/98/ME it will be similar
