8192 grid size problems

I'm working on a large highly detailed terrain with 8192 grid size, 2 cell size (8192x2) heightmap. I'm able to import heightmap, layers, generate terrain, generate layers, view terrain in Buldozer, export it to the game and even place objects, trees, roads, etc in TB, Buldozer. But when i try to edit terrain topography in 3d Buldozer view (even slightly change elevation,  smooth terrain) Terrain Builder freezes and crashes. Is there any way to use 8192 heightmap without TB crashing or should i stick to 4096 grid size x 4 cell size? Also how to get procedural infinite terrain outside of map to work? Using this option in terrain config causes game to crash.

8192 is well known for being buggyI Its up to you weather you want to deal with all the bugs that come with it.

 

Turning all views off (sat, heightmap etc) in TB can help sometimes

You put:

 enableTerrainSynth = 1;

in your config, but it works only on a few specific terrain dimension.

Have a look at this thread - 

 

 

I can only work on high res (8k) if I turn off every layer apart from sat mask in TB.
