I get the red square of death and disconnect alot and I would like to know other people's router settings. Mister Frag 0 Posted November 27, 2002 I'm not sure what the term "idle timeout" refers to on your router, you may want to give a model name and an explanation of what it is used for with your router. I've seen the term "idle timeout" used in conjunction with a disconnect delay for PPPoE connections. If the router didn't see any packets being sent or received, it would close the PPPoE connection. However, this timeout has always been in minutes, not seconds, and since OFP send and receives data almost constantly during a game, there is no way that the timeout should cause the connection to get dropped in the middle of a game.
