Mister Frag 0 Posted November 25, 2002 What about the CPU temperature and power supply stability/capacity?
vasgork 0 Posted November 25, 2002 I do not believ that it's because of overheating, I turn on my PC, start OFP and it freezes in few seconds, sometimes in few minutes, and it remains frozen for about 1 minute, then freezes again after few minutes and so on...... What steps did you try? Also, what Detonator drivers are you using? Also, is your motherboard based on the VIA chipset?
vasgork 0 Posted November 25, 2002 Ok I reinstalled OS, I mean I went from Win XP pro to Win 2000 pro, I tried setting my AGP in system BIOS to 1x, 2x....., I tried disabling AGP fast write, I have latest VIA 4 in 1 drivers installed, I have detonator driver version 40.72 for my GeForce3 TI 500. Basically I tried everything or almost everything unless there is something that I don't know about. And yes my motherboard is based on the VIA chipset. Thanks for helping. Lt_Damage 0 Posted November 26, 2002 I would go back to XP, XP won't be causing this issue. Check to make sure you have sufficient disk space for cache. If you have 256 mb of RAM you will need a lot of HDD space for virtual memory because OFP will have to use the hard drive more, as 256mb is not enough. Do other applications experiencing any issues? Do you play any other games and do they also lockup?
vasgork 0 Posted November 26, 2002 It was freezing on XP too, that's why went to win 2000, I thought it will solve my problem, and by the way I got 512MB RAM and enough HD space. Thanks

Do you have a joy stock or game pad or scanner connected or defined to your system? Of course, it could also be caused by a bad hardware component, with RAM memory and motherboards being the most common causes.
vasgork 0 Posted November 28, 2002 OK guys thanks for trying to help, now I will assume that I have some bad hardware component, my RAM sticks used to die before and I that same thing is happening now.
