Epic_Tuna 0 Posted July 13, 2017 My brother can't host a mission for our friends, but I can. Port forwarding is set up exactly the same for both of us. Eventually I figured out the problem. Even though he selects 'Internet' as the HOST mode, his session gets hosted via LAN. Can anyone tell me why this is happening or, even better, how to fix this? His PC is a lot better than mine, so it would be nice if he could host the missions. Thanks in advance! Epic_Tuna
pierremgi 4906 Posted July 13, 2017 Yes, exactly same for 2 friends of mine (not speaking English). We never thought about this aspect of the failure (LAN instead of Internet) but that's the case. We fought against ports (Arma & Steam), firewalls. Nothing worked, as we succeeded on my PC. I can host any Arma session. They never ever can do. No matter the provider, the windows settings, the modem settings, the UPNP or else. Sometimes, when I host a session, one of them needs to retry 10 or 20 times for connection: connected/disconnected...connected/disconnected... and after multiple try, tada, stays connected. It's another problem but what these connections are so fragile??? Arma is the only game played (we don't have all but many of them) with these difficulties.
