Custom lines drawn on map not saved

[OMAC 254]

Using 1.72, custom lines drawn on map with Lctrl+Lmouse are not saved.  Is this normal?  I could have sworn they were saved before.  IMO they should be saved along with other placed map markers.  

 

Start mission, draw lines on map, save game.  Reload save.  Lines are gone.
