There is a story about how there was a bunch of prisoners in a camp under guard from british soldiers, an American official went in and started saying shit like "you are all going to die" and these guys went berserk and ripped him apart. the british squaddies didn't even bother picking up the pieces of that asshole and just said it was his own fault when questioned by their CO.

Hats off to them for letting the bastard die! I don't even know why i'm bothering with this, first i'm playing OFP then i'm hearing on the news that our great leader has managed to enrage the "terrorists" by supporting the thick lump of shit sitting in the white house. It's not that these people could take over a squad of armed US soldiers, it's that if one of them causes the death or serious injury to a soldier, thats too much.  That's the reason they need to be restrained.<span id='postcolor'>

That's exactly right.  Places in seats with humane and practical restraints.  Hell, the US Marshalls department transports FAR more dangerous prisoners than these bozos without anywhere near as inhumane restraints.

As for them escaping and hurting someone..give me a break.  You are totally denigrating the abilities of your souldiers if you believe that a tired and likely underfed prisoner has a chance of doign any harm to their captors.  And before you drag out the prison riot that the CIA guy was killed in, that was in a hostile territory, and I believe they had help.  I cant see any US Military sorts offering to give grenades and guns to the prisoners.

Of course they need to be restrained in transit. Thats completely legal and makes sense. However, there are rules on this. These are the same rules that have been around since WWII, and even Hitler obeyed them (Only with Allies prisoners. Eastern POWS were left to die)

The rules are tough but fair You can lock them in a building and point guns at them, but you can't blindfold them 24/7 and tie them the whole time. Thats torture.

If the normal rules were followed, US servicemen would be safe, the POW's locked up, and the rest of the world happy. Why they have decided to go overboard on dentention rules is anyones guess.

He was treated, harshly but fair, put on trial, and got what he deserved. Thats the way you prosecute criminals.
