In the OFP section.

Well it's almost finished, but the radar dome spins in a really odd arc. Does anyone know how the PBR radar dome works?

I know it's not available to work on, and I have looked at Klinks Radar, but haven't tried his way yet.

The problem is that the dome spins around the boat to the outside in a wide arc rather than spin on its center. I've tried moving the rader axis point. Now do i really need to go into the config and create a whole new radar section the way klink has, or am I just missing something?

do you have 2 memory points for the axis of the radar or only 1?

right now I just have the one point at the center. I didn't think of adding any more. I'll try it and see.

if you only use 1 point for the axis i dont think thats good enoug to make it turn right

you must make 2 memorypoints unde rech other like : and give them both the same name ocaradaru i think

Thanks again Vixer...I'll try it. this morning I tried adding another point, but to the outside and OFP crashed. I think I'll try this route, and if that doesn't work, I'll have to remove all the tagging and memory points and start from scratch. *sigh*

I'll also look at the higgens boat or marcels and the zodiac by klink to see if I'm doing something totally wrong.

thanks again.

One more thing...I shot one of these and it floated upward... I'll search for an answer, but please feel free to let me in on why this would happen. There are soooo many things to try and look at in a stock p3d that I coudl be looking at the setting to change and not know it.

OK, I started over. I'm using Klinks Zodiac as a base, and it's working fine. Still haven't got the radar working yet, but I better take baby steps anyway. Still having major problems when I start to edit the hit points and geometry lods. I was looking at them, and they seem to look like just a lod copied and pasted in, so I try that. Go back in game, and the thing wont move. Argghhh! This software is a pain when you really don't know what your doing tounge.gif

Also I had a problem when the boat is just sitting there at idle and the tides rise up above the floor in the boat. OK, raise the boat a bit and then at top speed.... it pulls a JC move and walks...er runs on top of the water and sometimes above the water. So I had to raise the floor of the boat which almost kills all of the advantages of this boat sitting low in the water. Now passengers will be tempting targets.

Never could get the radar to spin right...tried literally hundreds of things, no amount of moving, aligning or adding radar axis point would get it to work, so i said the hell with it and reskinned the whole sucker. I also redid every component tag, the geometry, hitpoints, etc and now it's working great in game.

There are some new in O2 pics here in the OFp section.

No ingame pics since I cannot take screengrabs after adding a GeForce 4 ti sad.gif

It's looking rather nice, and once I add the details to the lower LOD's and add a weapon, it will be done, with or without working radar.

So far I must say it looks really nice.

Cant wait to see some ingame screenshots of them. How many people can go in it?

I'm thinking around 9. 2 crew members and 7 passengers. From what all I've read, it would hold about half a platoon of Seals and the boat crew, any more than that, and it would just chug along.

I actually have 2 weeks left, but editing time over the next 2 weeks will be very slim.

Ok, the damn thing is done except for minor tweking and a couple of config problems that I can't fix.

I added quite a bit of nice detail to the lower LOD's, and fixed some textures.

Looks pretty good for my first vehicle of any kind. The main model I actually bought from Turbosquid so I could have a good hull to work from, but it had 60,000 polys, no textures and way to detailed for me to play with for my first attempt at O2. Talk about having fun for a few weeks off and on optimizing and rebuilding many parts from scratch smile.gif

Now I can sleep !
